A8 D5 Review

Good car, generally without major issues. The only downside is the terribly creaking interior elements and a factory defect with the 48V alternator that will break for everyone... The manufacturer took responsibility and replaces it for free up to 7 years from the production date.

Pros: Good overall driving experience, Reliable with minimal issues

Audi A8 D5: 120k km driven

I've driven 120,000 km in this car, with 449 HP combined from petrol and electric. Features rear-wheel steering. Excellent for long journeys. Dynamic 0-100 in 4.9 seconds. Knock on wood, nothing has gone wrong. No rattles. The Bang & Olufsen sound system beats Burmester. I'm already looking for another, a 4.0 V8, because the new E-Class groans after 50,000 km. Fuel consumption without charging the silly 40 km battery is 11 L/100km with dynamic driving.

A8 D5: Simply Brilliant!

This car is GENIUS! I drove the previous D4 version for 5 years and was thrilled. I didn't think it was possible to improve such a good car even more. Super quiet! The car just glides. You don't feel the speed at all. And there's tons of electronics watching over everything. The Ambient lighting is pure magic. And what I like most are the HD Matrix lights with optional lasers. What happens at night while driving is indescribable. The lights adapt very quickly and precisely.

Pros: Exceptional refinement, Advanced technology, Impressive HD Matrix lights, Superb cabin quietness
Cons: Discreet styling for some
