Audi Q5 i: A Decade of S-Line Excellence & Fuel Economy Questions
This S-Line Audi Q5 has logged 120,000 km over ten years of ownership. The S-Line package offers a great visual appeal and comfortable seats with the signature logo. However, the fuel consumption on the highway, exceeding 8 liters/100km at speeds up to 130 km/h, isn't ideal. I'm unsure where the reviews claiming low fuel economy with its permanent all-wheel drive come from. Previously, I owned a Q5 with 140 HP but without the S-Line package, which had over 200,000 km. The difference in handling, suspension, and acceleration is noticeable.
Pros:
Striking S-Line visual design, Comfortable S-Line branded seats, Noticeably improved handling and acceleration compared to a non-S-Line model
Cons:
Higher than ideal highway fuel consumption above 8L/100km, Discrepancy with reported low fuel economy

Q5 i: A Reliable and Enjoyable SUV
A great car, my unit has been very reliable. I previously read about 3.0 TDI engine issues, but in almost 2 years, I've experienced none. I change oil and filters every 10,000 km and automatic transmission oil every 50-60,000 km, which likely prevents issues. The gearbox shifts smoothly and quickly. The engine map is around 300hp and has been trouble-free since the start. It's a successful car, and I'm a satisfied owner. It's a bit stiff but more comfortable than the A4 B8.
Pros:
Very reliable, Smooth and fast gearbox, Comfortable for an SUV, Good engine performance
Cons:
Slightly stiff ride

Problem: Brake Caliper
Perfect size, smooth and powerful engine, quality interior. Absurd oil consumption after 100,000 km, very exposed bodywork. S Tronic 7 gearbox replaced at 20,000 km (sudden failure, a 'clunk' when shifting to 7th at 100 km/h then everything stopped...). Monstrous oil consumption since I passed 100,000 km, no oil consumption before that. Brake discs replaced at 107,000.
Pros:
Perfect size, Smooth and powerful engine, Interior quality
Cons:
Absurd oil consumption after 100,000 km, Very exposed bodywork, S Tronic 7 gearbox replaced at 20,000 km (sudden failure, a 'clunk' on 7th gear at 100 km/h then stopped), Monstrous oil consumption since 100,000 km, Brake discs replaced at 107,000 km

Problem: AdBlue
Standing, feeling of security, good vehicle for road comfort. For Diesel engines, a hassle to fill the AdBlue tank (poorly placed and too small opening) and the product stains clothes!! Budget for shoes. Incomprehensible coolant leak not yet repaired by AUDI, engine electronics issues, automatic gearbox problems.
Pros:
Prestige, feeling of security, good comfort for road driving
Cons:
For Diesel Engines, hassle to fill AdBlue tank (poorly placed/small opening), product stains clothes! Budget for shoes., Incomprehensible coolant leak, unrepaired by AUDI to date, engine electronics issues, automatic gearbox problems.
