AX

For this price, you can't buy anything more economical. The best are the bargain hunters who find fault with everything because they're looking for a car at the price of a scooter. Such people should rather use public transport.

Pros: Extremely economical for the price
Cons: Vulnerable to criticism from those seeking impossibly cheap cars

Citroën AX: A Reliable Choice

Compared to a Renault 19 (1995) that spontaneously combusted, a Golf 2 1.6D with no soul, a Ford Sierra 1.6 (1986) that lost a wheel and half a door to rust, and an Alfa Romeo 124 that spent more time in the workshop than on the road, the Citroën AX is the only car that respects a young person's hard-earned money. It makes the user happy simply because the wheels turn and don't fall off. :)

Pros: Reliable and functional, Respects the owner's investment, Wheels stay attached!
Cons: Lacks spiritual presence compared to others

AX

I've had it for over 4 years and recommend it to those who want to drive economically. This car sips fuel, averaging 3.5-5.5 liters per 100km (using sunflower or rapeseed oil). I haven't had many problems, except for the rear axle bearings that need replacing every 60,000 km. No one stares at it, so you can go into the supermarket with peace of mind, and it will still be there in the parking lot. Unlike Audi, VW, Mercedes, etc. I recommend it.

Pros: Very economical fuel consumption, Reliable; few issues encountered, Discreet and goes unnoticed
Cons: Rear axle bearings require replacement every 60,000 km

Citroën AX: A Car for Enthusiasts, But Beware the Parts

The Citroën AX is a car for passionate drivers, but finding parts is becoming increasingly difficult. Repairs require skilled and trusted mechanics. I consistently addressed issues, but something else would go wrong within days. I must emphasize I never drove it 'sportingly' with screeching tires. No part of the AX is suited for that. This car is for ecodriving and annoying people, as they constantly have to overtake it.

Pros: Ideal for ecodriving
Cons: Hard to find parts, Requires specialized mechanics, Frequent breakdowns, Not suited for sporty driving

AX: A Charming and Reliable Companion

I bought this car in 2009 for 3400 PLN. It's a charming little car. It rarely broke down, and when it did, it was always near home or my workplace, meaning it still got me where I needed to go. Very simple, sometimes quirky, construction (the rear hatch is hinged on the window). The diesel engine is wonderful; it started even in -27 degree frost and consumed around 4 liters of diesel per 100km on the highway. Driving it at 155 km/h was an experience. The car is comfortable, and I remember it fondly.

Pros: Reliable and rarely broke down, Excellent diesel engine, starts in extreme cold, Very economical on fuel consumption, Comfortable to drive
Cons: Some unusual design choices (e.g., rear hatch hinges)

The AX: A Surprisingly Reliable Budget Car

Bought this little car over a year ago from the first owner for 1700 PLN. The design dates back to the 80s, making it a bit of an archaic sight on Polish roads. The car turned out to be a very positive surprise - I bought it for its low fuel consumption and it met my expectations in that regard (more on that below). I've driven it for about 10,000 kilometers so far without any issues (including a 2,000 km trip to Italy and Croatia), and it will probably stay with me for a while longer.

Pros: Very low fuel consumption, Reliable for its age and price, Good for budget-minded drivers
Cons: Outdated design (80s era), Basic features

Citroën AX: A DIY Enthusiast's Nightmare

I advise against taking this car outside the city. It's a car for DIY enthusiasts. Before I bought it, I didn't realize it was built from so many separate parts. My adventures with this car deserve to be documented in a thick book. The car is made very cheaply with poor materials. Its body structure is a bit too flexible, which brings concerns about what would happen in an accident. The AX's suspension is absolutely unsuitable for Polish roads. This car.

Pros: Unique experience for tinkerers
Cons: Poor build quality materials, Flimsy body structure, Unsuitable suspension for rough roads, Not recommended for out-of-town driving

My First Car: A Mixed Bag

My first car:) I bought it with 196,000 km on it. Initially, it performed excellently. I even drove it 550 km to Zakopane and another 550 km back without any issues. Unfortunately, the mileage soon took its toll in the form of oil consumption, injector failure, and finally, loss of engine compression:( The rest of the car proved very durable, especially the amazing bodywork! Despite its small size, the driver has plenty of space (slightly at the expense of passengers). Traveling is quite...

Pros: Excellent initial performance, Very durable bodywork, Spacious for the driver
Cons: Oil consumption, Injector failure, Loss of engine compression, Less space for passengers

AX: A Walk Down Memory Lane

Well, this is quite a historic car. The design dates back to the mid-80s. So, it drives like a car from the 80s should. It's not bad, but if you're looking for a car and aren't an old iron enthusiast, you might be quite 'surprised' by its ruggedness. I bought this car as a youngtimer to feel the vibe of past years. I don't regret it, it's quite a pleasant car. But I repeat, not for people who are looking for a daily driver and are used to newer cars.

Pros: Pleasant driving experience for its era, Captures the spirit of past years (youngtimer potential), Affordable nostalgic driving
Cons: Dated design and construction from the mid-80s, Rugged and basic driving feel, not for modern commuters, Not suitable for those accustomed to newer vehicle technology

My AX: A Mechanic's Dream (and Nightmare)

Bought this car for 600 PLN. It runs, but doesn't start... The issue was with the computer, but I fixed it with pliers and a screwdriver. Had to add a few wires to trick the system, and then it drove like a dream. Generally, the floor was so eaten by rust, you could almost pretend to be Fred Flintstone on the street. It's so light, you could replace the engine with bike pedals and it would still move. The drivetrain is a miracle. The magical suspension for such a small car truly surprised me.

Pros: Inexpensive to acquire, Surprisingly good suspension, Lightweight
Cons: Significant rust on the floor, Computer issues requiring jury-rigged solutions, Needs extensive repairs
