C4 II Review

One star deducted because it's not a perfect car. It's economical, cheap to maintain, and most importantly, fuel-efficient. The only irritating thing is the SCR system, which isn't refined. The car has a soft suspension. It's reasonably dynamic, though not a speed demon (for highway driving, I'd recommend seeking the 2.0 engine version). The car is quite affordable to buy, very well-insulated (it's quiet inside at 140 km/h). If you're looking for a car at

Pros: Economical, Inexpensive to maintain, Fuel-efficient, Soft suspension, Reasonably dynamic, Affordable purchase price, Well-insulated interior
Cons: SCR system is not refined, Not a speed demon (consider 2.0 engine for highways)

Citroën C4 II 1.4 VTi (95 Hp) Hatchback Mileage unknown

Problem: Oil Consumption

Fuel economy is great, 5.7-6.1 L/100km on highway, max 6.2 L/100km in city/national roads, even with a heavy foot. Started consuming oil after 25,000 km and a €270 Citroën oil change using 0W50. Not cool. Changed to 10W40 elsewhere, and after 2,500 km with anxiety, no oil consumption. Average consumption is 6L/100km at 120 km/h. Ignition coil failed at 16,000 km under warranty.

Pros: Fuel consumption of 5.7 to 6.1 L/100km, even on the highway., Average of 6.2 L/100km maximum on national roads and in the city., Maintained good fuel economy even with aggressive driving.
Cons: At 25,000 km, after a €270 oil change at Citroën, it started consuming oil., Not happy with 0W50 oil; switched to 10W40 and drove 2,500 km anxiously., Ignition coil failed at 16,000 km, though it was under warranty.

Citroën C4 II 1.4 VTi (95 Hp) Hatchback 130,000 km

Problem: Interior Noises

Overall comfort, seats and suspension are excellent. No breakdowns or costs in 13 years and 130,000 km. Good interior space and trunk size. Reasonable fuel consumption if not driven aggressively. The cornering lights are a truly useful feature, not always expected at this price/level.

Pros: Excellent comfort, seats, and suspension., Reliable: no breakdowns or maintenance in 13 years/130,000 km., Spacious interior and generous trunk., Reasonable fuel economy when driven calmly., Useful cornering lights feature.
Cons: Poor rear and 3/4 visibility., Lack of torque can be an issue, especially with passengers on mountain roads., Slightly sluggish on long journeys., Two infotainment system clock resets, vibration from gear lever at 90km/h in 5th gear, otherwise no issues.

Citroën C4 II 1.4 VTi (95 Hp) Hatchback 21,000 km

Issue: Dual Mass Flywheel

Comfort and silence on smooth roads ONLY! Small engine sufficient and economical if driven gently. Dismal finish: numerous interior rattles, various knocks (trunk, rear seat, console, dashboard, door, etc.). Front end transmits all road imperfections, knock from the front right mount despite grease added by the dealer (a well-known issue), vibrations in the steering wheel, seat, and pedals (never resolved).
