Citroën Saxo: Economical and Reliable

Car bought new from the Citroën dealership in Poland, used continuously to this day. This car is very fuel-efficient and economical both on the road and in the city. It truly stands out in its class for its fuel economy. I consider it recommendable due to the wide availability and affordability of parts. You need to maintain the underbody's preservation and replenish it if any is missing... and it will keep going for another 30,000 km.

Pros: Excellent fuel economy in city and on highway, Parts are readily available, Affordable parts
Cons: Requires regular underbody preservation and touch-ups

Saxo: A Decade of Reliable and Dynamic Driving

This little car has provided me with long and trouble-free driving for years, I don't even know how many, maybe 10. It's dynamic and performs excellently in the city. It handles 60 km/h with ease. The galvanized body means no corrosion. I'm satisfied. If it were still in production, I'd buy another one.

Pros: Long and trouble-free ownership, Dynamic performance, Excellent in city driving, Galvanized body, no corrosion
Cons: No longer in production

Citroën Saxo: Affordable City Car, But Lacks Polish

The car is primarily cheap to run. A large number of replacement parts and their relatively low price make servicing this car easy. A typical city car. Perhaps I was lucky and got a good example that served me faithfully for just under a year. The overall rating is lowered by numerous shortcomings, limited interior space, uncomfortable seats, and a decidedly underpowered engine. The market price is quite high for this car. When buying, it's worth checking the body condition and looking for signs of wear inside.

Pros: Low running costs, Abundant and affordable spare parts, Easy to service
Cons: Limited interior space, Uncomfortable seats, Underpowered engine, High market price relative to features

Citroën Saxo: A Fun & Sporty Ride

An amazing car for drivers with a sporty flair! Of course, it's not without flaws, which is why I probably wouldn't buy it in a weaker version. It's perfectly suited for amateur rallies, an excellent base for building a real monster (though it's fun even in stock form). Very hard to find one in good condition, most cars have been in 'dings' or are heavily worn out. The economy is surprising!! The stock car averaged 6.5 L/100km on the highway!! With dynamic city driving, up to 10L/100km. Sporty driving is...

Pros: Great for amateur rallies, Excellent base for modifications, Surprisingly economical
Cons: Difficult to find in good condition, Many are accident-damaged or worn out

Citroën Saxo 1.1: Affordable & Practical

The Saxo 1.1 60 is a cheap car to maintain. Even 100 km daily in the city during winter doesn't break the bank. You can live with all the inconveniences of a small car. However, the engine is a bit too weak. It also leaks a bit. With normal starts, it always gets left behind, but sometimes it's the first, which probably annoys some people that such a thing can overtake them. The ride is good with the soft suspension. The trunk capacity is max 120kg (depends on the condition of the axle). So far, only under the hood, around the engine and suspension, there are some issues.

Pros: Cheap to maintain, Affordable for city use, Good ride comfort
Cons: Underpowered engine, Leaking components, Limited trunk load capacity

Citroën Saxo: A Reliable Companion for 3.5 Years

I've owned this car for 3.5 years, covering 22,000 km. Purchased in Germany with a documented 68,000 km, verified by DEKRA, TUV, and service history. Its trustworthy origin led to trouble-free ownership. Unexpected issues were limited to a coil pack (400 PLN) and a washer pump motor (100 PLN). I also replaced the exhaust system (mid-silencer, rear silencer, and pipe to manifold) due to corrosion.

Pros: Reliable and trouble-free ownership, Verified low mileage from Germany
Cons: Exhaust system replaced due to corrosion

Saxo: A Solid Workhorse

A decent car, as long as you buy it as a vehicle for commuting to and from work. Thanks to LPG, it's extremely cheap to run (~6.5L LPG mixed cycle, commuting 20km each way daily), and parts are inexpensive so far. Of course, it's not Formula 1 (though I suspect models with the 120HP engine have a good kick :)), nor is it a car designed to cover hundreds of thousands of kilometers per year (it doesn't mean it's impossible, but you have to take that into account and not complain about comfort).

Pros: Extremely cheap to run with LPG, Inexpensive parts
Cons: Not designed for very high annual mileage, May lack comfort for long distances

Citroën Saxo Review

A typical city car due to its seats, but quite spacious and SUPER economical. Interesting facts: 1. A 50" Panasonic plasma TV in its box fit, and we drove 100 km with it! 😉 500 kg of poppy seeds with nuts from Szczecin to Berlin was no problem - the faces of customs and German police were priceless. 2. Trips of 1200-1500 km are bearable, but due to the noise at 160 km/h and city seats, take coffee breaks. 3. It even managed in the mountains. 4. Suspension - divine for comfort, like a Lancia Delta.

Pros: Very economical, Surprisingly spacious, Comfortable suspension
Cons: Noisy at high speeds, City-oriented seats for long trips

Citroën Saxo: A Reliable Companion

I drove this little car for 18 years, bought it as a bargain when it was a few months old. It was the best purchase of my life. I changed it for a newer one with regret. I'm even afraid of how the new one will perform, especially since I hear everyone saying new cars are so weak. I didn't have major issues with it, it never let me down, never broke down on the road, it drove great and still does. I changed the oil, filled it with gasoline, and drove. It's not true that only Toyotas are reliable. It accelerates nicely, and is...

Pros: Excellent reliability for 18 years, Great value, best purchase ever, Never broke down, always dependable, Good acceleration
Cons: Regrettably had to be replaced

Citroen Saxo: The Simple Diesel Workhorse

My car repair was taking a long time. As I often struggled to coordinate dropping off both my car and my girlfriend's car at the mechanic, I started looking for the simplest possible diesel to repair as a backup. By chance, 3 km from home, someone was selling a found Saxo with dead brakes, previously used as a workhorse. I bought it and brought it back to order (brake overhaul, McPherson replacement due to a broken spring, new battery and 2 tires, wheel alignment, ...)

Pros: Simple to repair, Good as a backup vehicle, Potential workhorse
Cons: Brakes need immediate attention, Suspected McPherson spring issue, Requires significant restoration
