Duster III

For three years, I was a happy owner of a Dacia Duster II 1.3 TCE (4 cylinders, 130 hp). Trusting the brand, I moved to the newer model and was genuinely disappointed. The multimedia system is a disaster, frequently freezing, to the point I prefer not to pair my phone at all. Furthermore, the chassis quality raises my concerns. I own a plot of land on the outskirts of the city, and a large portion of the car's mileage is accumulated on dirt roads. The Duster II handled bumps without issues or strange noises, whereas...

Pros: Familiarity with the brand
Cons: Unreliable multimedia system, Concerns about chassis quality on rough roads

Duster III

Hello dear readers. I want to share my opinion on the Dacia Duster 3rd generation. This is my, or rather our, first car from the dealership, along with my wife. You know how it is before buying, a thousand thoughts a minute. It took me about 8 months to search for a new car before I decided on a specific model. Near my town, I visited all possible dealerships with the intention of buying a car, and I had to narrow down my search to 3 models and choose a specific one from them. And so it happened.

Pros: First new car from dealership, Eight-month search process leading to decision

Duster III

Duster 3 LPG, Extrem version, with tech and winter package. The car is compact, handling forest roads and local routes well. Too weak for highways; at 140 km/h, LPG consumption jumps to 12-13 l, and it's loud inside. A downside is the lack of a heated windshield, despite purchasing the winter package. In rain or high humidity, frequent messages about lack of front camera visibility, leading to sign recognition failure (a quick wipe with a cloth doesn't help).

Pros: Compact and agile, Good on forest roads and local routes
Cons: Underpowered for highways, Loud at high speeds, No heated windshield despite winter package, Front camera visibility issues in rain/humidity

Duster III

I had the last facelifted version for 3 years, in the B0 body. Those cars are like Volgas :) It had a 1.0LPG engine. I really liked this car and remember it fondly. Now it's time for a change, and in the new Duster III version, also with 1.0LPG. After 150 kilometers, the impressions are good. Although the wind noise caught my attention... I know there are limits and you go as fast as you need to, but the noise, it's very noisy. At 120 km/h, it was noisy and it greatly disturbed me... I won't write about speeds above that.

Pros: Liked previous generation, New Duster III with LPG, Good initial impressions
Cons: Significant wind noise at speed, Noise above 120 km/h is concerning

Duster III

This is my third and likely last Dacia - each new generation is worse. It looks nicer, but the quality and durability are increasingly lower. Strange noises come from the suspension, the paint is very weak, it's hard to keep the rear doors clean, and the electronics freeze up. Well, you can see the cost-cutting. My first Dacia (2010-2018) was indestructible and is still driven by family, nearing 300,000 km. The second (2018-2024) also had no major complaints. This third one I bought blindly, based on trust.

Pros: Improved aesthetics, Blind purchase based on trust
Cons: Decreasing quality and durability, Suspension noises, Weak paint finish, Dirty rear doors, Freezing electronics

Duster III

Extensive testing before purchasing. I knew what I was getting regarding size and quality (Journay version - fabric interior). The switch from Toyota Prius/Auris hybrids was difficult, but very positive. The Duster has lower fuel consumption and better sound insulation. Driving pleasure and handling are also superior in the Duster! The engine/gearbox takes some getting used to, but it's okay. It can lag sometimes and act a bit strange at higher speeds, but generally, it's fine. Average fuel consumption below 5l/100km, around 4.3-4.6l/100km.

Pros: Lower fuel consumption, Better sound insulation, Superior driving pleasure and handling
Cons: Engine/gearbox can be slow to respond at times, Occasional strange behavior at higher speeds
