Panda III: Disappointment After a Reliable Predecessor

I bought the third-generation Panda, encouraged by the trouble-free experience with the second generation. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. While the car looks better and drives better, the first corrosion problems appeared after only six months. First, the screws and door hinges rusted. At the dealership, I was told it wasn't worth fixing because "Fiats are like that." The service manager even offered to show me his own car with rusted hinges as proof. Then the corrosion...

Pros: Improved aesthetics, Better handling
Cons: Early corrosion on screws and hinges, Dealership dismisses corrosion issue as normal

Panda iii

Small 1.0 Hybrid engine. We drove it for 3,000 km. At first, we didn't know how to drive it. Now we know that when you approach a light, you release the clutch and the car goes into start-stop mode. Minimal fuel consumption of 3.8 L on the Łódź - Radom route (national road). Max 7 liters in Łódź (quick starts). 6-speed gearbox. Short gears. It performs really well. A very nicely tuned car. Super agile and easy to park anywhere. Wife is over the moon. The savings are evident... none.

Pros: Excellent fuel economy, Agile and easy to maneuver, Compact and easy to park
Cons: Initial learning curve for hybrid system

Panda iii

This engine is completely insufficient. I looked all over the cabin to find what to press to make it go faster, because pressing the accelerator pedal does nothing. You can't overtake a cyclist with this car, let alone a truck on a single-lane road. The cabin ergonomics are very basic; a pleasant surprise is the place to put a drink, but not a very large one (max medium coffee). The suspension floats around corners, and the entire body bounces on asphalt imperfections. In summary,

Pros: Cup holder is a nice touch
Cons: Completely insufficient engine, No acceleration power, Cannot overtake any vehicle, Basic cabin ergonomics, Unstable suspension, Body bounces on bumps

Panda III

I've driven the Panda many times, starting with my Grandfather's Panda II, up to the one I drove a few days ago in Italian Apulia. Since I've had my license for less than a year, I've always been a passenger in a Panda, but now I had the chance to drive one. Overall impressions are very positive. Even though we drove the Cross version, I didn't feel any less confident than in lower-slung cars, which can't generally be said for this type of vehicle.

Pros: Positive driving experience, Confident handling
