Sierra II

Recommended if: you like to drift (a differential with a lock is recommended), you like a car where you can shift gears as you please, not as you have to because the car lacks power, you want a car for long journeys without breaks to stretch your legs, you have no more than 4000 PLN, you value economy without compromising performance, you want a car that is inexpensive to maintain.

Pros: Great for drifting (LSD recommended), Flexible gear shifting, Comfortable for long distances, Affordable to buy, Economical without sacrificing power, Low maintenance costs
Cons: Budget of 4000 PLN or less

Sierra II

My Ford is already 20 years old, yet it still surprises many. Quite good acceleration and comfortable travel. Very strong body panels and paint that doesn't show its age. Quite good equipment for today's times; AC, central locking, power windows, sunroof, heated front and rear windshield, airbag in the seat and heating + height adjustment, front and rear disc brakes.

Pros: Good acceleration, Comfortable ride, Durable body and paint, Good equipment for its age, Functional AC, Power windows and sunroof, Heated front/rear windshield, Heated seats with height adjustment, Front and rear disc brakes

A very good car with above-average performance, offering a lot of driving pleasure thanks to its rear-wheel drive, without breaking the bank. I really regret selling it. Unfortunately, the body wasn't in the best condition, and I didn't have the money for a complete repair. Still, I regret it... P.S. DON'T INSTALL LPG, YOU'LL KILL THIS CAR.

Pros: Excellent performance for its class, Great driving fun due to RWD, Economical to run
Cons: Bodywork can deteriorate, Expensive body repairs, Avoid LPG conversion

Sierra II

The Sierra has been in the family from the start. Grandpa drove it first, then Dad, and now me. A great car, old but still going strong. The bodywork is in ideal condition, it's hard to believe it's already 22 years old :) If you take care of it and replace parts regularly, it will serve you for a long time :)

Pros: Family heirloom, Excellent condition for its age, Durable with proper maintenance
Cons: Requires regular maintenance

Sierra II

Hi, back in the 90s, I owned four Sierras. All gasoline. Two 1.6 (carbureted) and two 2.0 (carbureted and injected). I just bought my fifth, a 2.0 DOHC with 53k km, and I'm super happy. Nostalgia mixed with experience. Rear-wheel drive combined with low weight gives such a kick that I can't stop smiling. I've never had serious breakdowns with Fords (I also owned a Taunus before). I recommend the injected engines starting from 2000cc. They offer real fun and are well-refined.

Pros: Rear-wheel drive fun, Lightweight and agile, Refined injected engines, Reliable (personal experience)
Cons: Older model

The Sierra is not a typical car. It's not an average car like a Golf or an Astra. The biggest plus and the reason I bought this car is, of course, the rear-wheel drive. It offers great fun and adds class to the Sierra. The engine is also a plus; I definitely recommend the 2.0i DOHC EFI unit. Weaker units struggle with the heavy body, while the 2.0 handles it excellently, and fuel consumption is not much higher. The Sierra is very comfortable and spacious. Although it's getting on in years, the car still looks good. The downside is the plastics.

Pros: Rear-wheel drive provides excellent driving fun and class, Recommended 2.0i DOHC EFI engine offers great performance, Very comfortable and spacious interior, Timeless design despite its age
Cons: Interior plastics feel cheap

Sierra II

I am very satisfied. I bought it on the day I got my driver's license, October 18, 2007. I've driven 35,000 km to date. It hasn't made an impression on it. In the last three days, I've driven a total of 1100 km. I got out of my Sierra at midnight at my house, and it asked me if that's all I could manage. At least 20 times a week I start with a screech, at least 10 times I brake with a screech, I corner sharply and abruptly, I drive dynamically, I have a heavy foot. Sometimes I spin it around with the handbrake, sometimes I just give it gas.

Pros: Reliable over long distances, Handles aggressive driving well, Durable
Cons: Encourages spirited driving

Sierra II: A Solid Value

A really good car for the price. My 1993 model had a full restoration in 1997 and is a true gem (burgundy). The body is clean (except for one small rust spot). The engine is clean and runs well. It accelerates quickly and has good power. It took a little while to get used to the rear-wheel drive (need to be careful in winter). The interior is nice and well-maintained. The dashboard might be archaic, but I enjoy tinkering with it. The car has a sporty yet family-friendly look. If in good condition and...

Pros: Excellent value for money, Good performance and acceleration, Clean and well-maintained interior
Cons: Rear-wheel drive requires caution in winter, Dashboard can be considered dated

Sierra ii

The Sierra was my third car and the most unreliable. In just one year of ownership, I counted well over 20 breakdowns, including a flooded engine and a serious gearbox failure. I understand the car was old, but how is it possible that it ended up at the mechanic dozens of times a year... Even after an expensive repair, the LPG system performs poorly in this engine. Very high LPG consumption (even 20 liters!). Very weak engine for its weight, acceleration on LPG to 100 km/h

Pros: None mentioned
Cons: Extremely unreliable, numerous breakdowns in one year, Catastrophic engine and gearbox failures, LPG system issues, Excessive LPG consumption (up to 20L/100km), Underpowered engine for its weight

Sierra II

A nice and very comfortable car, suitable for both daily use and travel. Altogether, a classic car. My example was in a dire state when I bought it (it was 19 years old and who knows how many miles, because Ford didn't install odometers back then. There was a device counting these kilometers, but every 100,000 it reset to zero, so it could have had...300,000? 400,000? 500,000?). Therefore, I will limit myself to describing the driving experience, omitting the issue of chain-reaction disintegration.

Pros: Comfortable, Good for daily use and travel, Classic car
Cons: Odometer inaccuracy (historical issue)
