Elantra VII (2022)
This is already the fourth new Elantra in my family. My daughter drove the previous two. I've been driving the 2019 automatic model. My daughter wanted to persuade me to buy a new one, and I was supposed to give her my 2019 model. I'm so satisfied with it that I didn't agree to my daughter's proposal, so she only had the option to buy a new 2022 automatic Elantra. She picked it up last week at the Hyundai dealership in Inowrocław. Why we choose this model. We like it.
Pros:
Reliability and satisfaction with previous models, Family preference for the Elantra model

Elantra VII Review
Previously I drove a Vectra C with a 1.9 CDTI, 120 HP, no DPF, also from a Polish dealership. I was looking for a comfortable car for my ~40 km commute to work, with acceptable fuel consumption. Additionally, the car was to be used for longer trips. I wanted the simplest possible construction, meaning diesel engines, turbos, and hybrids were out, along with the cheapest possible operation. Initially, I considered the Mazda 6 or Mazda 3. I would have bought one, but the cars started to vibrate when cylinders shut off (!).
Pros:
Comfortable for commutes, Acceptable fuel economy, Suitable for long trips, Simple construction desired
Cons:
Vibrations in cylinder deactivation (Mazda)

Elantra VII Review
After over a month, I noticed the steering wheel cover cracking. The service department didn't acknowledge it, so I had to install a cover and give up the heated steering wheel. Highway driving often leaves marks on the paint (even small stones leave traces). Overall, the quality could be better, but for a reasonable price, it's quite a large, comfortable car. It's well-thought-out functionally and multimedia-wise, and has many driver-assistance systems. The engine is quite dynamic and yet...
Pros:
Spacious and comfortable for its price, Functionally and multimedia-wise well-designed, Numerous driver-assistance systems, Dynamic engine
Cons:
Cracking steering wheel cover (service denied), Paint susceptible to marks from highway driving (stones)

Value for money is 5/5! Of course, you can get a better car for more money, but currently, in the 100-110k PLN range, there's probably nothing more interesting, unless someone likes risk and prefers to buy a 3-cylinder PureTech with a 100k mileage limit. Thrills only for the brave. If reliability is your priority, I recommend the Elantra. All my further ratings are based on evaluating a lower-mid-range car, so Elantra's 5 stars don't equal 5 stars for BMW, Mercedes, or
Pros:
Excellent value for money in its segment
Cons:
Potential for more engaging driving dynamics in higher segments

Elantra VII: A Mature and Comfortable Sedan
After the first 2,000 km, it's okay. This is my first CVT vehicle, so the clearly audible transmission during acceleration bothers me a bit, but you can get used to it. Generally, this is a car for grandpas like me, who value peace over road adrenaline. This vehicle doesn't encourage exceeding 120 km/h or sudden bursts. Sometimes, when overtaking, a bit more power under the hood would be nice (too bad the N version or at least the 2.0 engine isn't available in Poland), especially since I also have a Civic with a 1.6.
Pros:
Comfortable ride, Peaceful driving experience
Cons:
CVT noise during acceleration, Lack of power for aggressive maneuvers, Limited engine options in Poland

We drove our previous Elantra (2011 model, V generation) 140,000 km with the family (three users). During this time, the following were replaced: clutch (2x), steering rod, alternator brushes, brake pads and discs (1x). It wasn't completely unreliable, but it never needed to be towed. The naturally aspirated engine has changed little over the years and is now a rarity on the car market. It consumes little fuel with calm driving, and I hope it will be reliable. This time...
Pros:
Reliability (no towing needed), Fuel efficiency with calm driving, Rare naturally aspirated engine
Cons:
Clutch needed replacement twice, Steering rod replacement, Alternator brushes needed replacement

In June 2024, I picked up my fourth new Elantra, a facelifted 1.6 MPI with a CVT transmission in the Executive trim, with the optional SAFETY package, from the Hyundai dealership in Inowrocław. There were two reasons for buying another Elantra. The first is my satisfaction with previous cars I've driven, and the second is my satisfaction with the Hyundai dealership and service in Inowrocław. I've driven almost 2000 km and want to share my thoughts on the Elantra again (previous reviews are on Autocentrum.pl from 2016 under
Pros:
Satisfaction with previous Elantras, Satisfaction with Hyundai dealership and service

Elantra VII Review
So far, the car has been trouble-free. In my opinion, Hyundai clumsily tries to imitate European premium brands. The car is supposedly well-equipped. The voice control is there, but it's far from what you'd find in VAG group cars, let alone BMW, and I know what I'm talking about as I've driven BMW 3 Series, Audi A6, and Arteon. The car handles decently but is far from the stability of the aforementioned brands. In summary - a very average car, neither super comfortable nor super sporty. It won't surprise you with anything.
Pros:
Trouble-free operation so far, Well-equipped
Cons:
Voice control is subpar compared to premium rivals, Lacks the stability of premium European brands, Unremarkable performance, neither sporty nor very comfortable

Hyundai Elantra VII Review
Overall, I rate the car 4.5 stars after 10 months of use. The suspension is not stable enough for me; it lacks a multi-link rear setup, which is particularly noticeable over speed bumps and in fast corners. A positive is that the torsion beam is a maintenance-cost-free solution. The rear light fogged up a few times in the autumn-winter season. Once, the electronic parking brake locked up when shifting from P to D; only by shifting back to P and D again did the rear wheels unlock. And then there are those unfortunate rear trunk hinges, which take up...
Pros:
Low maintenance cost torsion beam suspension
Cons:
Suspension lacks stability, especially on speed bumps and corners, Rear light fogging issue, Electronic parking brake occasionally locks up, Rear trunk hinges reduce cargo space

Elantra VII: Unbeatable Value
For the price, this car has no equal. The interior looks like it was designed by Mercedes, with a driver-oriented dashboard and a unified display panel. It's hard to justify paying an extra $10k-20k for similar cars from other brands, where you only get minor, insignificant features for that additional cost. I would buy it again. Only a version with a better engine, like a punchy 1.6, could be an option.
Pros:
Exceptional value for money, Modern, premium-feeling interior, Driver-focused dashboard layout, Unified digital display
Cons:
Desire for a more potent engine option
