Hyundai Getz

Positively surprised by the agile engine and good sound insulation. Unfortunately, the cockpit isn't attractive. This car I'm reviewing was a company car. Would I buy it? Of course! I bought the 1.4 automatic petrol and I'm satisfied.

Pros: Agile engine, Good sound insulation
Cons: Unattractive cockpit

Hyundai Getz

Original and interesting look (lift version). Well-organized cockpit (storage compartments, gauges). Lots of space for a car in this segment, especially for the driver. Generally, a recommendable car. Mechanically and electrically low failure rate. Nothing to complain about with the 1.1 66 HP engine; it’s plenty for this car, really dynamic and doesn't need to be pushed hard (city and mixed driving).

Pros: Unique and appealing exterior design (liftback), User-friendly interior with smart storage solutions, Spacious cabin, particularly for the front passengers, Reliable mechanical and electrical components, Peppy 1.1 66 HP engine is surprisingly dynamic

Hyundai Getz: Nimble City Car

A small, agile car, perfect for city driving. It handles well, and the 97 hp under the hood easily manages this little car. Easy to park, reasonably comfortable. Enough space inside too, good quality for its class. The only downside is the slightly high fuel consumption for such a small car, around 7L/100km in mixed driving.

Pros: Agile and nimble for city driving, Good handling, Easy to park, Reasonably comfortable, Sufficient interior space, Good build quality
Cons: Fuel consumption a bit high for its size (around 7L/100km mixed)

Hyundai Getz

A good city car, a bullseye for those valuing reliability and low running costs. The downside is corrosion affecting the wheel arches and tailgate, high cabin noise, and a low ride comfort comparable to a Golf 3.

Pros: Great for city driving, Reliable and affordable to maintain
Cons: Corrosion on wheel arches and tailgate, High interior noise, Low ride comfort

Hyundai Getz Review

I'm the 3rd owner. Bought at 75,000 km. If I hadn't added extra speakers and heated side mirrors, it would only need regular maintenance: tire changes, oil, gas, and washing. I'm still driving it. Excellent on the road, agile, fast, parks great. A super car for me.

Pros: Excellent on the road, Agile and fast, Parks great, Reliable with basic maintenance
Cons: Basic features might require upgrades for some users

Hyundai Getz

Back then, Koreans made a small car with the parameters of a medium one. Today, that would be unthinkable. Newer cars of this class have shoddy plastics, seats, shorter gears, etc. Great car for the city, it also manages on the road. Comfortable seats, efficient engine, low weight, stiff suspension. I like driving this car. It encourages fast driving.

Pros: Comfortable seats, Efficient engine, Low weight, Great for city driving, Handles highway driving well
Cons: Stiff suspension, Older design compared to new cars

Getz: The No-Nonsense Commuter

A grandpa car that meets my expectations almost 100%. It offers a calm A to B journey without any excitement, driving thrills, or brand prestige. This car is for those who consciously choose a budget option, prioritizing practicality and low running costs. I don't recommend it for those with higher demands for comfort, convenience, or power – save your nerves! ;)

Pros: Budget-friendly, Practical, Low maintenance costs
Cons: Lacks excitement and driving thrills, Minimal comfort and convenience, Limited power

Hyundai Getz

The car's greatest strengths are its price and reliability. After the facelift, its appearance is quite decent. Inside, the plastic is unattractive, reminiscent of cheapness. But it's exactly as described in used car catalogues – savings were made wisely. Meaning, the cabin is a bit skimped on, but mechanically there are no objections, and the car should keep running as long as rust doesn't eat it. A very good choice for a woman's car, for shopping and for transporting children. It's narrow, short, and fits everywhere.

Pros: Affordable price, Reliable mechanics, Decent looks after facelift
Cons: Cheap-feeling interior plastics

Hyundai Getz Review

I've had the car for a year. Overall, I got a hidden lemon, but I tried to review it without considering the faults it came with. And there were quite a few: a cracked catalytic converter, a seized AC compressor, a non-functioning ABS sensor, and rust hidden under poor touch-ups, a poorly functioning fuel tank float. Overall, I'm satisfied. I've driven almost 15,000 km and I can't complain about the fuel consumption. I'm not a slow driver but I drive smoothly, about 30/70 city/highway, and my fuel consumption is usually around...

Pros: Good fuel economy, Smooth driving experience
Cons: Cracked catalytic converter, Seized AC compressor, Faulty ABS sensor, Rust under poor repairs, Malfunctioning fuel float

Hyundai Getz: A Solid Used Car Choice

After 20 years since its debut, the Getz still holds its ground as an economical and very reliable used car. The 1.3L 82 HP four-cylinder engine, licensed from Mitsubishi, offers genuinely spirited performance in such a small car. You can find them in attractive and uncommon colors like yellow or pastel green. As a well-equipped 5-door model (with manual air conditioning and airbags), it remains an excellent value-for-money proposition for new drivers, provided the car is well-maintained.

Pros: Economical to run, Reliable mechanicals, Spirited performance for its class, Attractive and uncommon color options, Good value for money
Cons: Availability of well-maintained examples might vary

Hyundai Getz 1.1 MPI (62 Hp) 3d Hatchback 130,000 km

Problem: Corrosion

The car suffers from engine malfunction and rust. Despite being a city car, it offers a spacious interior. However, these mechanical and structural issues are a significant drawback.

Pros: Spacious interior for a city car
Cons: Engine malfunction, Corrosion

Hyundai Getz 1.1 MPI (62 Hp) 3d Hatchback 130,000 km

AdBlue Problem

Spacious for its size, easy to drive in the city. Relatively reliable until recently, but there's a significant oil leak. Engine noise is noticeable, especially on the highway. Power is limited, acceleration is slow. Fuel consumption is higher than expected. Clutch replaced at 110,000 km. Interior is basic and ages poorly. Thin paint and fragile bodywork. Engine compression issues resolved with an additive.

Pros: Very spacious for its size, Easy to drive in the city, Relatively reliable until recently, significant oil leak discovered, No interior rattles despite mileage
Cons: Limited power, 0-100 km/h in over 16 seconds. Difficult on highways., High fuel consumption for size/power. Expecting better for city use. Highway is approx. 6.7l/100km., Clutch replaced at 110,000 km, with at least 90,000 on highways, Poor sound insulation, noisy engine, like a diesel in the city. Louder on highways above 100 km/h., Low-cost interior presentation with pervasive plastic that ages poorly., Fragile bodywork with thin paint (non-metallic)., Engine compression became insufficient, making starting difficult. Resolved with an additive at 115,000 km., Engine oil leak at 130,000 km

Problem: Timing Belt

Hidden defect: Cracked crankshaft at the pulley outlet shaft, broke at 115,000 km. Symptoms: Loss of power, excessive fuel consumption, dangerous acceleration delays. Pros: Spaciousness
