Hyundai Getz
Positively surprised by the agile engine and good sound insulation. Unfortunately, the cockpit isn't attractive. This car I'm reviewing was a company car. Would I buy it? Of course! I bought the 1.4 automatic petrol and I'm satisfied.

Original and interesting look (lift version). Well-organized cockpit (storage compartments, gauges). Lots of space for a car in this segment, especially for the driver. Generally, a recommendable car. Mechanically and electrically low failure rate. Nothing to complain about with the 1.1 66 HP engine; it’s plenty for this car, really dynamic and doesn't need to be pushed hard (city and mixed driving).
A small, agile car, perfect for city driving. It handles well, and the 97 hp under the hood easily manages this little car. Easy to park, reasonably comfortable. Enough space inside too, good quality for its class. The only downside is the slightly high fuel consumption for such a small car, around 7L/100km in mixed driving.
A good city car, a bullseye for those valuing reliability and low running costs. The downside is corrosion affecting the wheel arches and tailgate, high cabin noise, and a low ride comfort comparable to a Golf 3.
I'm the 3rd owner. Bought at 75,000 km. If I hadn't added extra speakers and heated side mirrors, it would only need regular maintenance: tire changes, oil, gas, and washing. I'm still driving it. Excellent on the road, agile, fast, parks great. A super car for me.
Back then, Koreans made a small car with the parameters of a medium one. Today, that would be unthinkable. Newer cars of this class have shoddy plastics, seats, shorter gears, etc. Great car for the city, it also manages on the road. Comfortable seats, efficient engine, low weight, stiff suspension. I like driving this car. It encourages fast driving.
A grandpa car that meets my expectations almost 100%. It offers a calm A to B journey without any excitement, driving thrills, or brand prestige. This car is for those who consciously choose a budget option, prioritizing practicality and low running costs. I don't recommend it for those with higher demands for comfort, convenience, or power – save your nerves! ;)
The car's greatest strengths are its price and reliability. After the facelift, its appearance is quite decent. Inside, the plastic is unattractive, reminiscent of cheapness. But it's exactly as described in used car catalogues – savings were made wisely. Meaning, the cabin is a bit skimped on, but mechanically there are no objections, and the car should keep running as long as rust doesn't eat it. A very good choice for a woman's car, for shopping and for transporting children. It's narrow, short, and fits everywhere.
I've had the car for a year. Overall, I got a hidden lemon, but I tried to review it without considering the faults it came with. And there were quite a few: a cracked catalytic converter, a seized AC compressor, a non-functioning ABS sensor, and rust hidden under poor touch-ups, a poorly functioning fuel tank float. Overall, I'm satisfied. I've driven almost 15,000 km and I can't complain about the fuel consumption. I'm not a slow driver but I drive smoothly, about 30/70 city/highway, and my fuel consumption is usually around...
After 20 years since its debut, the Getz still holds its ground as an economical and very reliable used car. The 1.3L 82 HP four-cylinder engine, licensed from Mitsubishi, offers genuinely spirited performance in such a small car. You can find them in attractive and uncommon colors like yellow or pastel green. As a well-equipped 5-door model (with manual air conditioning and airbags), it remains an excellent value-for-money proposition for new drivers, provided the car is well-maintained.
The car suffers from engine malfunction and rust. Despite being a city car, it offers a spacious interior. However, these mechanical and structural issues are a significant drawback.
Spacious for its size, easy to drive in the city. Relatively reliable until recently, but there's a significant oil leak. Engine noise is noticeable, especially on the highway. Power is limited, acceleration is slow. Fuel consumption is higher than expected. Clutch replaced at 110,000 km. Interior is basic and ages poorly. Thin paint and fragile bodywork. Engine compression issues resolved with an additive.
Hidden defect: Cracked crankshaft at the pulley outlet shaft, broke at 115,000 km. Symptoms: Loss of power, excessive fuel consumption, dangerous acceleration delays. This is due to a slight timing belt misalignment caused by crankshaft torsion. This hidden defect is known to Hyundai dealerships which refused to buy back the vehicle from the previous owner.
