Sonata IV: Comfortable, Spacious, and a Pleasant Ride
The Sonata IV offers a comfortable and spacious interior, delivering good performance and a very pleasant driving experience considering its overall package. It has a low incidence of technical issues and is relatively inexpensive to maintain. The suspension is soft, making most road imperfections like potholes and sandy patches unnoticeable, with only deeper indentations affecting the ride. The trunk is roomy, though sourcing some parts can be challenging, and occasional electronic glitches may occur.
Pros:
Comfortable and spacious interior, Good performance for its class, Pleasant and smooth ride, Reliable with few technical issues, Inexpensive to maintain, Soft suspension absorbs bumps well, Large and practical trunk space
Cons:
Some parts can be difficult to find, Occasional electronic problems

I've owned the car for over 3 months. I've driven over 5,000 km... I'll start from the beginning. I bought the car from a dealer (I searched online for a suitable example for over 3 months). I preferred to pay a bit more, hoping the car would be in better condition than those offered at ridiculously low prices. The highest fuel consumption is on short trips with an unheated engine. For trips up to 3 km, the real consumption is 13.5l/100km. I'll add another opinion in a year and see if my view changes :) for now
Pros:
Potentially better condition than cheaper alternatives
Cons:
High fuel consumption on short, cold trips

Sonata IV Review: 100,000 km Update
Hello everyone interested in buying a Sonata. This isn't my first post on this portal; I previously shared my experiences after 50,000 km. Now, the car has 100,000 km, and I'd like to share my observations. We mostly use the car for road trips; my wife commutes 60 km to her shift. Fuel consumption is exceptionally low (I've completed an eco-driving course with Tomek Kuchar's school). I can achieve a result of [comment truncated]
Pros:
Exceptionally low fuel consumption

Reliable, comfortable, and well-equipped car for little money. Regarding repairs, our authorized service center does not support Hyundai cars from the USA. The simple reason is that these cars are half the price in the States compared to their European counterparts. So why support private imports? Let them buy in Europe for much more money... Before I bought the car, I researched the availability and prices of parts. Fortunately, parts for this car can be bought in Poland without any problems, outside of authorized service centers. Many are available.
Pros:
Reliable, Comfortable, Well-equipped, Excellent value
Cons:
Limited official US import support

Very cheap to buy. Super comfortable and spacious for its class. Very capacious trunk, though the loading opening is quite small, as is typical for a sedan. Fuel consumption according to the computer ranges from 4.9 to even 12 liters, depending on the driver's right foot. If driving calmly, you can get around 6 liters per 100 km in the city without much trouble. Nothing broke in 2 years of use. As for flaws, minor things like a broken driver's sun visor are a bit annoying (common in these cars).
Pros:
Very affordable purchase price, Extremely comfortable and roomy for its class, Spacious trunk
Cons:
Small trunk opening for a sedan, Fuel consumption varies widely with driving style, Minor issues like a fragile sun visor are common

Sonata IV: A Revelation
I wasted so many years in an Audi A4, and for the same price, I found a Hyundai Sonata. Everyone advised against it and recommended a Passat. I'll never go back to German automotive engineering, which is overrated. Hyundai has offered me reliable operation for 5 years; rarely anything needs doing to it. Plus, rich equipment, plenty of space, an ideal car for long journeys. I've driven this car almost all over Europe, from Lithuania to Portugal and Spain. This car drives and doesn't want to break down, despite...
Pros:
Reliable operation for 5 years, Rich equipment, Plenty of space, Ideal for long journeys
Cons:
Initially advised against by others

I bought the 2006 Executive CRDI 2.0 version (automatic transmission) and it was the worst purchase of my life. In two years, tens of thousands were spent on repairs. The breakdowns were so varied that they were practically unpredictable when buying the car: both window mechanisms, air conditioning, the head gasket replaced three times, the fuel pump twice, the fuel tank (paint flaking off), the exhaust gas temperature sensor, the brake light sensor, injectors and tappet plates in the engine, the intercooler - I'm not including repairs here
Pros:
Spacious interior
Cons:
Extremely unreliable, Frequent and costly repairs, Numerous and varied component failures

After one year, I can write a bit about my experience with the Sonata. It's one of the nicest cars ever made! It's incredibly comfortable and spacious, the generous trunk will satisfy many, and it handles LPG well (provided it's installed by a specialized gas technician). The Sonata was perfect for our honeymoon road trip – a 400 km journey felt like a soft, pleasant ride on a couch. It's true that at higher speeds, the car sways a bit on corners (soft suspension).
Pros:
Beautiful design, Very comfortable and spacious, Large trunk, Good with LPG
Cons:
Slight body roll at high speeds
