Ceed II: 5 Years of Ownership

I've had this car for 5 years, so I know a bit about it. I was looking for a small diesel estate. After watching some videos and talking to friends, I chose the Ceed. I bought the XL version with 180,000 km. I like tinkering, so I service the car myself. Spare parts are cheap: brake pads, clutch, belts, rollers, etc. The car is economical on the road. Injectors and turbo are doing well. No visible rust on the body, though it's probably not galvanized. In summary, the car has never...

Pros: Economical on the road, Low spare part prices, No visible rust
Cons: Likely not galvanized

Kia Cee'd II 1.4 CVVT (100 Hp) Hatchback 2,500 km

Excellent - Cee'd II

A new car that, after 2500 km, experiences engine sputtering, loss of power, and a complete engine failure... dangerous on the highway, possible accident as it happens unexpectedly.

Kia Cee'd II 1.4 CVVT (100 Hp) Hatchback 22,000 km

Issue: Clutch

Nice lines, comfortable, efficient parking assistance (beeps + camera), engine with two faces: smooth when driving calmly and "sporty" when pressing the accelerator (granted, only 100hp for 1400kg). Pleasant gearbox, well-assisted steering (3 modes), good fuel economy. Traction on slippery surfaces (especially snow => winter tires essential), clutch whistles on first starts in damp weather, difficulty dosing engine speed.

Pros: Nice look, comfortable, Efficient parking assist (beeps + camera), Versatile engine: smooth for calm driving, sporty when accelerating, Pleasant gearbox, Well-assisted steering (3 modes), Good fuel economy
Cons: Traction on slippery surfaces (snow requires winter tires), Clutch whistles on initial starts in damp weather, Difficulty in modulating engine speed at low revs

Pros: Overall look, very comfortable
Cons: Outdated braking, sluggish engine, handling on wet roads, Radio replaced on purchase, dashboard scratch, very fragile interior plastics, significant oil consumption, turning noise (likely steering rod), deplorable after-sales service.
