Sorento II

It's not an ML, which was my previous car. But it has its advantages. The ML 3.5 petrol burned 16-18 L/100km, while the Kia 8.5L diesel. It's quite well-equipped. I miss the electric tailgate opening with the remote. Convenience. It supposedly parks itself, though I've never used it. Lots of parking sensors and a camera. Never used them and probably won't. Ventilated seats. Rear seatback adjustment. And many other additions. And cheap parts. It has its pluses. I don't regret the purchase. It drives, turns, and brakes. It's okay. I think.

Pros: Excellent fuel economy (8.5L/100km diesel), Well-equipped interior, Very good comfort features, Affordable spare parts
Cons: Electric tailgate not remote-controlled, Self-parking feature unused (potentially complex)

Kia Sorento II 2.2 CRDi (197 Hp) 4WD SUV 155,000 km

Problem: Air Conditioning

Engine runs like clockwork at 155,000 miles with instant startup. Very few vibrations for a diesel. Doesn't hesitate to tow. Heated and electric seats. Dual-zone climate control, everything is easily accessible in the engine bay (filters, bulbs...). Significantly more comfortable to drive than previous vehicles. Quite reliable.

Pros: Engine runs like clockwork at 155,000 miles, starts instantly., Very few vibrations for a diesel., Doesn't hesitate to tow., Heated and electric seats., Dual-zone climate control., Easily accessible engine bay components (filters, bulbs) compared to previous cars., Very comfortable to drive., Quite reliable.
Cons: Old-generation diesel engine, not a powerhouse, questions about the 197hp., The vehicle drives best below 2000 RPM., Clutch and dual-mass flywheel replaced at 144,000 km (common issue with 2.2 CRDI)., Oil pan gasket leaked at 155,000 km after oil change; repair cost €200 with new oil change.

Kia Sorento II 2.2 CRDi (197 Hp) 4WD Automatic SUV 220,000 km

Issue: Flywheel Housing

Reliability: At 220,000 km, we replaced the front wishbones (worn ball joints), the flywheel housing (cruise control buttons stopped working), and that's it! Space: I am tall and my children are too (+1.80m). This is the only vehicle we found at a reasonable price that met our space requirements. Plus, we have a large dog crate that doesn't fit in all trunks. Power:

Pros: Incredible reliability: At 220,000 km, we replaced the front wishbones (worn ball joints), the flywheel housing (cruise control buttons stopped working), and that's it! Space...
Cons: Comfort: for long journeys, we would have liked adjustable or even air suspension. Parking: we would have liked a front camera in addition to the rear one. With its large size,..., Flywheel housing: replaced around 100,000 km. Cruise control buttons stopped working ($500?). Front suspension wishbones: the right-side ball joints were shot ($800?).
