Sportage IV Review

I bought the Business Line version with a 7-speed automatic, front-wheel drive, Full LED, electric tailgate, and heated seats from a Polish dealership. In my opinion, it's a sensational car with an excellent quality-to-price ratio. Spacious, comfortable, and with a large trunk. Essentially, it has been trouble-free during this period of ownership - it has never let me down on a trip. After 50,000 km, issues with jerky gear changes appeared, but the service managed the situation after installing a third software update. The engine...

Pros: Excellent value for money, Spacious and comfortable interior, Large trunk capacity, Reliable with minimal issues
Cons: Initial gearbox jerking resolved by software updates

Kia Sportage IV 1.6 GDI (132 Hp) SUV 60,000 km

Mediocre - Sportage IV

Perfect comfort for someone with minor back issues. Much better than an Audi A5. I'm looking for and will buy a more powerful petrol model.

Pros: Perfect comfort for someone with minor back issues. Much better than an Audi A5.
Cons: Looking to repurchase a more powerful petrol model.

Problem: Fuel Pump

You can add 10 liters of fuel after stopping the fuel pump nozzle. For now, no problem with 67,000 km.

Pros: No issues after 67,000 km
Cons: Can add 10L gasoline after nozzle stops

Mediocre - Sportage IV

The lighting is quite mediocre, and it's not just my opinion; three friends with the same vehicle agree. Additionally, the plastic cracks and causes issues with the technical inspection.

Kia Sportage IV 1.6 GDI (132 Hp) SUV 124,000 km

Problem: Gearbox

Reliability tested (worthy of 2000s German cars). Well-equipped even in base trims. Decent fuel consumption for its weight (approx. 8 l/100 km mixed). Very competitive maintenance costs outside Kia network (official dealer shame). Beautiful design on par with German cars (I own and have owned several). Fairly spacious trunk for 4. Service every 2 years for low annual mileage. Cons: Significant size. Trunk design poorly optimized due to rear wheel wells. Low-resolution reverse camera.

Pros: Rock-solid reliability (worthy of 2000s German cars), Richly equipped from the first trim levels, Decent fuel consumption despite its weight (approx. 8 l/100 km mixed), Very competitive maintenance costs outside the Kia network (a shame about the official dealership), Beautiful line that's nothing to envy from German cars (I own and have owned several), Fairly voluminous trunk for 4, Service every 2 years for low annual mileage
Cons: Non-negligible size, Trunk awkwardly optimized due to rear wheel arches, Low resolution for the reverse camera, Gearbox hesitated in lower gears but fixed with a simple fluid change (Kia garage wanted to dismantle engine + gearbox just to look... lol)
