Over the year, I've replaced many parts, mostly in the engine. The main problem concerned the 2nd gen LPG system; the engine would choke and stall at critical moments, like at intersections. The bodywork is also terrible: thin and not galvanized. Yes, I cut out rusty panels and welded in new ones, but it only lasts a short time as rust reappears after about a year. The interior is prehistoric:/ but what can you do. As for gas consumption, the least it's burned is 8.8 L, but in the city, it drinks 12-14 L, and if I push it, even 18 L of gas. I had it for 1.5 years.
Pros:
Rarely breaks down (apart from LPG issues), Classic style
Cons:
Constant engine issues with LPG, Poor bodywork and susceptibility to rust, Outdated interior, High fuel consumption

190: A Timeless Mercedes Classic
This is one of the last true Mercedes. I say this with a clear conscience. The car is reliable, apart from a few electrical quirks. It comfortably transports you from point A to point B. And because my example is really well-maintained, it turns heads on the street. I didn't expect a '91 Mercedes to attract so much attention from passersby. In fact, I also fell in love with it the moment I saw it – I knew it had to be mine. The most beautiful thing about this car is when during...
Pros:
Reliable mechanics, Comfortable ride, Timeless design attracts attention, Well-maintained example
Cons:
Minor electrical issues

Mercedes 190: Nearly a Classic Today
The Mercedes 190 is almost a classic today. You don't really buy it by accident. I've liked this car for a long time. I found a well-maintained and interesting example and don't regret the purchase one bit. The Mercedes 190 is a car that brings a lot of joy in ownership, and even more in driving. Its classic lines, silhouette, proportions, and many details all make me consider it a beautiful and distinctive car. Add to that excellent driving characteristics and build quality. A true, wonderful Mercedes! I recommend it.
Pros:
Beautiful and distinctive styling., Excellent driving dynamics., High build quality., Joyful ownership experience.
Cons:
Not an impulse buy., Already approaching classic status, potentially higher maintenance costs.

Mercedes-Benz 190: A Timeless Classic
This car looks great and has a durable, rust-resistant body. Parts are inexpensive. What more could you ask for? I wouldn't trade it for any other car. It may not have many fancy features, but when I need to go, I get in, drive, and reach my destination. I've had newer cars, but they were a disaster, failing me often. I've had this Mercedes for 10 years; I bought it in Germany with 88,000 km, and believe it or not, it now has 225,000 km and is still on its original suspension! That's the power of automotive engineering. I will never sell it, even though I've owned newer cars.
Pros:
Attractive appearance, Durable, rust-resistant body, Affordable parts, Reliable, gets you to your destination, Remarkable longevity (original suspension at 225k km!)
Cons:
Lacks modern gadgets and features

Mercedes-Benz 190D: A True Gem
I was looking for a small, cheap LPG car, even considered a Tico. Then I heard about the 190D from a reliable source. Bought it sight unseen over the phone. It's a 1985 model, built to drive, not to repair. Economical, spacious for one, manageable in the city. Parts are cheap, and with proper care, it will last. I've had it for 1.5 years, and I've loved it for 547 days. We'll part ways only at death, either mine or its. I'd buy this car again and again.
Pros:
Economical to run, Built to last, Spacious for a single driver, Easy to maneuver in the city, Affordable parts
Cons:
May require attention if not well-maintained

Overall, the car has everything a good car should have. With its extra features, it could put many younger models from other brands to shame. Which 30-year-old car has electric and heated mirrors, electric windows and sunroof, comfortable seats adjustable even up and down, two ashtrays (the front one even has a light), rear passenger footwell ventilation, power steering, and on the dashboard, a coolant temperature gauge, current oil pressure, and a warning light.
Pros:
Equipped with modern features, Comfortable and adjustable seats, Functional dashboard indicators
Cons:
Age may be a factor for some

Mercedes in the family for 10 years. During this time, the following were repaired: handbrake (several times, eventually I gave up on fixing it and left the car in gear), ignition cutoff after turning off the engine with the key (luckily under the hood there's a "stop" button that turns off the engine), radiator fan sensor, windshield wiper motor, and bodywork (rust removal and painting). Besides that, only routine maintenance replacements. I still see the Mercedes today, it's still running.
Pros:
Durability over 10 years, Still running after extensive use
Cons:
Recurring handbrake issues, Ignition cutoff problem, Radiator fan sensor failure, Windshield wiper motor replacement, Bodywork (rust and paint) needed

As a young Mercedes enthusiast, I decided my first car had to be a W201, preferably gasoline with an automatic transmission. Six months of searching paid off, and I became the owner of a sound example, practically devoid of extra features. Beauty lies in simplicity. A wonderful car with phenomenal driving characteristics, exceptional durability, and a beautiful line that pleased the eye every time I headed towards it. We parted ways for

I'm reviewing this car individually, considering only my unit. I'm not comparing it to contemporary cars or competitors. Mercedes 190 1.8 petrol, Sportline from 03/93. (Sportline version: bucket seats front and rear, lowered and stiffened suspension, blue athermic glass, leather steering wheel and gear knob). Nowadays, I do not recommend the 190 for daily use. The 202 is more civilized (air conditioning, etc.) and 202 engines work very well with LPG. The 190 was mine
Pros:
Sportline trim with enhanced features
Cons:
Not ideal for daily use compared to newer models, LPG compatibility better with W202

Bought as a hobby car. It didn't fail once in a year of use. Comparing a 30-year-old car to a modern one is an exaggeration. Nevertheless, it is very comfortable and convenient, even compared to modern cars (remember this model entered production in the early 80s). Perhaps for a tall person, getting into position behind the wheel is difficult (no steering wheel height adjustment), but fortunately, the seat can be adjusted smoothly. For about 120 HP, the car is light and
Pros:
Very comfortable, Convenient
Cons:
Limited steering wheel height adjustment
