106 i
A small, agile car, the XN 5d version with the KID package and denim interior. Quite a bit of space in the front, worse in the back. Despite this, I really enjoy driving this car. Due to its age and high annual mileage, it required a lot of repairs at the time. In 4 years, it traveled 120,000 km and NEVER let me down on a trip. Driving is 30% city, 70% highway and country roads. Fuel consumption is 7 liters LPG, 8 liters on the highway maintaining 140+ km/h continuously (max 165 km/h). It will be hard to say goodbye to it.
Pros:
Small and agile, Enjoyable to drive, Reliable on long trips, Good fuel economy (LPG)
Cons:
Limited rear space, Requires frequent repairs due to age/mileage

106 i
The 106 is a very cool, nimble little car with nothing much to go wrong. It's incredibly cheap to run. Apart from the typical French issue (rear beam), almost nothing breaks. I have a 1992 model and am now looking for another 106/Saxo from 2001. However, let's be honest, like any car, something occasionally needs doing or replacing. But compared to my friends' cars (Fiats, BMWs, Opels, Polonezes, Mazdas, and Hondas), the 106 is sensational. You won't meet a 106 driver in the workshop :) You're more likely to bump into...
Pros:
Very cool and nimble, Incredibly cheap to run, Reliable, few things break
Cons:
Typical French rear beam issue

Peugeot 106: Still Capable After All These Years
I bought this little car in the 1.4 XS version as a vehicle for 'fishing and mushroom picking'. This means it functions as a makeshift off-roader for about 30% of its usage. Surprisingly well-equipped for its size and age, it features airbags, electric windows, electrically adjustable and heated mirrors, headlight adjustment, a sunroof, an immobilizer, and 5 doors. It's extremely cheap to run and to buy. In practice, aside from minor issues, and despite nearly 250,000 km on the odometer, it's been trouble-free. Good rating only because...
Pros:
Low purchase and running costs, Well-equipped for its class and age, Reliable despite high mileage, Surprisingly capable off-road
Cons:
Minor issues encountered

106 i: A Budget Gem Requiring TLC
I bought this car for pennies. It needed some work, but parts are very cheap, and most repairs are DIY-friendly, requiring little experience. Its biggest advantage for me is durability. Yes, it has its weak points (CV joints, alternator), but it never let me down. It doesn't demand excessive technical care. Despite being 20 years old, with very worn paint and a salvage history, it barely rusts (except for the trunk floor - a common issue).
Pros:
Extremely affordable purchase price, Low cost of replacement parts, DIY-friendly maintenance and repairs, Remarkable durability and reliability, Resistant to rust (mostly)
Cons:
Requires some initial work, Specific weak points (CV joints, alternator), Trunk floor prone to rust
