508 i: Mixed Feelings on High-Speed Cruising
I bought this Peugeot at the dealership with 52,000 km. After 5 years, it now has 185,000 km, mostly driven on German highways at speeds of 160-180 km/h. If you plan to use this engine in such conditions, I'd advise against it; perhaps a diesel would be more durable. The engine is suitable for calm driving up to 140 km/h (3000 rpm in 6th gear). Then it repays you with impressively low, almost diesel-like fuel consumption and, I suspect, satisfactory reliability. If it weren't for that darn engine...
Pros:
Low fuel consumption at moderate speeds, Potentially reliable for gentle driving
Cons:
Not recommended for sustained high-speed highway use, Engine struggles with aggressive, high-speed driving

After 2 years of use and about 30,000 km, I'm writing this review. The car is large, spacious, with a considerable boot. Mine is the version with light leather seats which, combined with the panoramic roof, creates a great impression. Even on gloomy days, the interior is bright. As for the build quality, the materials are very good, and the bodywork is solid. However, the rich equipment and class of the car don't quite go hand-in-hand with its soundproofing and driving comfort. I previously owned a Peugeot 407 Coupe, which was much better in this regard.
Pros:
Spacious interior and large boot, High-quality materials and solid construction, Bright interior, even on cloudy days, Luxurious feel with light leather and panoramic roof
Cons:
Subpar soundproofing, Compromised driving comfort compared to previous model

I've only owned the car for a few months, but despite this short period of use, I've noticed several annoying drawbacks. Firstly (and most irritatingly), the headrests are very uncomfortable. I don't know how I didn't notice this when buying the car, but correctly positioning the headrest to keep the head straight in line with the body is practically impossible. It seems to me that this seat, along with the headrest, was designed with people who have...
Pros:
Car has been owned for a few months
Cons:
Very uncomfortable headrests, Difficult to position headrest correctly for proper posture

Peugeot 508: Stylish & Practical
The Peugeot 508 is a truly great car! It boasts an incredibly well-equipped interior that impresses with both its quality and modern technology. Additionally, it looks sensational – its elegant, dynamic design turns heads. Inside, there's ample space for both passengers and luggage, so it doesn't disappoint in terms of practicality either. I've heard mixed opinions about the engine, but personally, I've been using the 508 for several years without any major issues.
Pros:
Luxurious and tech-savvy interior, Striking, elegant design, Spacious cabin and trunk, Reliable performance (personal experience)
Cons:
Engine reputation varied

508 i: Long-Term Road Test
After driving this car for 130,000 km, I have a lot to say and this review should be objective. I'm reviewing the facelifted model, factory-fitted without AdBlue, from a Polish dealership, Active version with some optional extras. Overall impression is very good – a reliable and extremely economical engine, very high driving comfort and space, a subdued but still quite fresh design. I switched from a Laguna 3, and the materials in the 508 are much better. Both on the dashboard and the fabric upholstery. What's more - it visited me
Pros:
Reliable and extremely economical engine, High driving comfort and space, Subdued, fresh design, Superior interior materials compared to Laguna 3

Very good - 5008 I
Comfortable and quiet. The engine is responsive when pushed beyond 3000 rpm. The rear parking sensor should be standard, even on the access model. Average consumption: 6.3 L/100km. Replaced an electro-valve at 53,000 km for €150 including labor.
Pros:
Comfort, Silence, Engine responsiveness above 3000 rpm
Cons:
Rear parking sensor should be standard on access model, Average consumption: 6.3 L/100km, Electro-valve failure at 53,000 km (€150 labor included)
Peugeot 5008 I 1.6 VTi (120 Hp) MPV
210,000 km
Problem: Gearbox
The car excels in handling, comfort, and soundproofing. Fuel economy is particularly good. The engine has enough power to reach 210 km/h. Interior and exterior materials are of high quality. However, the pilot-operated manual gearbox (BMP) is very slow, even in sport mode, and unreliable. It requires spark plug changes every 20,000 km. Engine oil consumption is high at 1L/3000km. The clutch kit and radiator were replaced at 150,000 km, and all four ignition coils at 180,000 km.
Pros:
Handling, Comfort, Soundproofing, Excellent fuel economy, Sufficient engine power for 210 km/h, High-quality interior and exterior materials
Cons:
Pilot-operated manual gearbox is very slow and unreliable, Spark plugs need replacement every 20,000 km

Issue: ESP
Reliability issues: The same injector (ESP) problem occurred twice in 10 months. The car became undrivable, requiring towing.

Problem: Gearbox
The car has excellent finishing, a smooth ride, and a willing small engine that is also economical. However, the BMP6 gearbox is a significant drawback.
Pros:
Finishing, Smooth ride, Willing small engine, Fuel economy
Cons:
