Clio IV: A Reliable Companion

A very good car. I've had it for 5 years and nothing has broken. I bought it used, 5 years old with 62,000 km. Regular oil service every year and just drive. The engine is sufficient for this car. When loaded, it's a bit weak on the highway, but it's only 90hp so nothing to complain about. After some time, creaking plastics appear, but nothing too annoying. Although the current mileage is around 118,000 km, the steering wheel is heavily worn. I am very satisfied with the Clio 4 with the 1.5 dCi engine.

Pros: Very reliable, no breakdowns in 5 years, Sufficient engine for daily use, Low maintenance with regular oil changes
Cons: Lacks power when fully loaded on highways, Creaking plastics appear over time, Steering wheel shows significant wear

Clio IV: A Pleasant Surprise

A very positive surprise. I was looking for a completely different car and, resigned after long searches and the state of used cars, I accepted my wife's decision, who liked the Clio Grandtour. Advantages: engine and low fuel consumption, no DPF problems (fifth injector regeneration), good handling, relatively good anti-corrosion protection, large boot (445 L), interior aesthetics, very cheap parts and access to many alternatives. It's low and aerodynamic, so wind-resistant. A huge difference after...

Pros: Engine and low fuel consumption, No DPF issues, Good handling, Good anti-corrosion, Spacious boot (445L), Pleasant interior, Affordable parts & alternatives, Aerodynamic & wind-resistant

Renault Clio IV 1.2 16V (75 Hp) Hatchback 60,000 km

Correct - Clio IV

Smooth and pleasant driving (below 90 km/h). Simple to use, very maneuverable. Quiet engine at low revs. Easy-to-use Media Nav. Overall car design is very successful (subjective). Large trunk + rear seat flexibility. Daytime running lights. Heating/Air conditioning activate quickly. Doesn't consume a lot (with calm driving). Size, easy to park. Turning radius. Good comfort for driver and passenger seats. Price of some consumables. Safe and economical vehicle. Cruise control/limiter.

Pros: Smooth and pleasant driving (under 90 km/h)., Simple to use, very maneuverable., Quiet engine at low revs., Easy-to-use Media Nav., Very successful overall car design (subjective)., Large trunk + rear seat modularity., Daytime running lights., Heating/Air conditioning active quickly., Low fuel consumption (with calm driving)., Compact size, easy to park., Tight turning radius., Good comfort for driver and passenger seats., Affordable consumables., Safe and economical vehicle., Speed limiter/cruise control.
Cons: Lacks a 6th gear for fast lanes/highways (noisy engine over 90km/h)., City fuel consumption requires quick gear changes (4th at 50km/h)., The 1.2 16v 75hp engine isn't fast; anticipate overtakes/climbs/highway merges (downshift)., Lack of small storage compartments., Hazardous light stalk; pushing activates high beams, pulling only flashes., Some hard plastics feel cheap in the cabin., Rear visibility., None so far.

Renault Clio IV 1.2 16V (75 Hp) Hatchback Mileage unknown

Correct - Clio IV

I find its look nice and attractive. However, the engine is noisy from 110 km/h; you have to anticipate inclines to avoid dropping to 70 km/h (engine power). No issues in 4 months.

Pros: Nice and attractive appearance.
Cons: Noisy engine from 110 km/h. Needs anticipation on hills to maintain speed due to engine power., No issues in 4 months.

Flywheel Problem

Comfortable / Cheap maintenance / Reliable / Good basic equipment (cruise control / Bluetooth radio / steering wheel controls). Contrary to what I've read, oil consumption is reasonable. I've had to top up slightly since I bought it and the last service, over 8500km.

Pros: Comfortable, Inexpensive maintenance, Reliable, Good basic equipment (cruise control, Bluetooth radio, steering wheel controls)
Cons: Parasitic noises since 3000 km, like the car is already 'worn out' at 90000 km., High consumption for a small engine (7.4l/100km mixed driving - can get down to 6.8l/100km on short, quiet trips)., Noisy engine over 120 km/h, struggles on hills., Reverse gear doesn't always engage on the first try., Poor power-to-weight ratio., No issues encountered currently, but previous owner changed the timing belt early as a precaution at 75000 km.

Problem: Fragile Paint

Beautiful car, quite comfortable and pleasant. Clutch control is very smooth, good steering. Smooth and easy driving in urban areas, just acceptable on highways if you drive gently. Fuel consumption is a bit high compared to the competition but understandable given the car's weight/power ratio. The 'dynamique' trim is very complete and even incredible compared to the competition, you find everything including the key card.

Pros: Very beautiful car, quite comfortable and pleasant, Very smooth clutch control, Good steering, Smooth and easy driving in urban areas, Acceptable on highways with gentle driving
Cons: Weak engine, avoid mountain roads, Slightly high average consumption, Low-level plastics, Dynamic noises from 110 km/h, engine struggles, Fragile paint, Rear window wiper issue, sometimes unresponsive
