Scenic II Review

First impression of the car is very good, but unfortunately the longer it was used, the harder it was to like. In 7 years of use, the alternator was repaired twice, and the clutch release bearing twice. Unfortunately, each time the car was immobilized and required towing. Spare parts are also not among the cheapest. Replacing the brake discs and engine mount (replaced twice) were relatively expensive. Towards the end of its use, problems began with the door sensors and the panoramic roof motor.

Pros: Good initial impression
Cons: Frequent alternator and clutch release bearing failures, requiring towing, Expensive spare parts, Problems with door sensors, Issues with panoramic roof motor

Scenic II

I bought the Conquest version. This is my fifth car, my first Renault, and the first car I hate. Besides its nice looks, it offers nothing. Performing any maintenance yourself is a nightmare. Replacing a bulb or fuse requires removing several other parts. Lots of electric motors for unknown purposes. Without battery power, you can't open the trunk lid. Interesting how this will behave in an accident if you wanted to...

Pros: Attractive design
Cons: Difficult to maintain, Overly complex electrical components, Trunk release requires battery power
