Felicia II

I've owned this car for over 4 years. I know every pothole and rust spot like the back of my hand. Overall, for me, it's a very good first car. If something breaks, it's easy to fix. Driving on LPG costs next to nothing. I've NEVER replaced anything in the engine, not even adjusted the valves, yet it runs like a dream. It has no safety systems, so you learn to drive carefully, and the lack of power steering strengthens your biceps. On a grazed...

Pros: Excellent first car, Easy to repair, Very cheap to run on LPG, Reliable engine requires no maintenance
Cons: No safety systems, No power steering

Felicia ii

An incredibly grateful car. Simple, cheap, and easy to repair. It will take you anywhere in the world without stress. It doesn't have unnecessary and expensive computers, filters, wheels, pumps, or even timing belts and whatever else they invent just to make money on servicing. A bit slow, but that's not the point here. It's cheaper to drive a Felicia on gas than a bicycle on electricity! I recommend buying a well-maintained example for a little more than the market average, and it will certainly not let you down. Don't listen to your wise uncles and don't

Pros: Incredibly grateful car, Simple and cheap, Easy to repair, Reliable for long distances, Cost-effective to run
Cons: A bit slow

Felicia II: Small Outside, Big Inside!

Small on the outside, surprisingly spacious inside. Agile, zippy, practical, and reliable. Highly recommended as a small family car. Easily fits a family of four with moderate luggage. Also great as a nippy city car. Perfect first car. They say it reaches 160 km/h, but I push mine over 170. Despite its age, aside from a rusty muffler, it's never had any issues. You can confidently drive it into the woods and zoom over 80 km/h on gravel without worry of parts breaking off.

Pros: Compact exterior, ample interior space, Agile and responsive handling, Generous cargo capacity for its size, Reliable and durable, Excellent for city driving, Surprising performance for its class
Cons: Exposed to rust, particularly the muffler

Felicia II: A Pragmatic Choice

My honest opinion at the time of sale. I bought one of the most expensive ones with low mileage. It has its flaws, repairs are cheap. I don't think there's a cheaper car in Europe, but you do need to occasionally check the fluids under the hood. Small on the outside, a bit cramped inside. Parks and overtakes brilliantly - good visibility and I always find a spot. Lack of power steering doesn't bother me, I'm a guy, not a wimp. I did miss the air conditioning, and... that's it. I drove it everywhere, near and far.

Pros: Very affordable repairs, Excellent maneuverability and visibility, Easy to park and overtake
Cons: Cramped interior, Requires regular fluid checks, No air conditioning

Felicia II

I own two Felicias. One from 2000 with 46,000 km and a 68hp 1.3 MPi engine. The second from 1996 with over 600,000 km and a 54hp 1.3i engine. My father bought the first one new from the dealership; it's used occasionally. I've had the second one for 16 years, and it serves as a work car for hauling rubble and wood. In this role, a 1.9D engine would be ideal, but the 54hp 1.3 also manages. The Felicia is excellent as an affordable car for daily use.

Pros: Affordable daily driver, Durable workhorse, Reliable (especially the higher mileage one)
Cons: Lower power 1.3 engine struggles with heavy loads, Older model has high mileage

Felicia II: A Budget Buy for the Young Driver

When I bought this car from my father in 2000 – it was a 1998 model, already 2 years old – I was 19. My options were limited by price for new or nearly new cars of this class and size (I was wary of scrap imported from across the western border). My choices were Polonez Caro, Wartburg 1.3, Lada Samara, Yugo Florida, Kia Rio, Daewoo Lanos, possibly smaller Matiz or Seicento... or the Skoda Felicia. Everything else was out of reach.

Pros: Affordable purchase price, Suitable size for a young driver
Cons: Limited choices in the price range, Older model year
