Corolla Verso E120

A very comfortable family car. Our family of five feels truly at home in this car. I have the 7-seater version and I must admit I often use the extra seats. The car is nearly trouble-free. Beautiful engine performance. The suspension is also excellent. It handles very well. Although at high speeds, it's not as stable and 'stiff' as lower cars. Unfortunately, the factory radio is poor. The storage compartments, although numerous, are somehow impractical. And the fuel consumption is a bit...

Pros: Very comfortable for families, Spacious 7-seater option, Reliable mechanicals, Smooth engine operation, Excellent suspension
Cons: Slightly less stable at high speeds, Poor factory radio, Impractical storage compartments, Moderate fuel consumption

Corolla Verso E120 Facelift

I have the 2008 facelifted version with a 1.6 petrol engine, 110 hp. The car is completely dynamic for everyday city driving. Very economical. Average fuel consumption 7.5l per 100 km. I am delighted with this car. Luna version with average equipment. Manual air conditioning with a beautiful plum or, as one prefers, dark cherry color. The car is spacious and comfortable. Functionality is a 5. I have the 7-seater version. The car is simple in construction, with 165,000 km, it works beautifully and smoothly. Truly.

Pros: Dynamic for city driving, Very economical, Spacious and comfortable, Highly functional, Reliable and smooth operation
Cons: Average equipment in Luna trim

Corolla Verso E120

A great car for families or those who often travel long distances, carry medium-sized items, or seek a compromise between small hatchbacks and clunky estates. I've been using this car for 2 years and have driven about 35,000 km, with at least 25,000 km on motorways (I live in the Netherlands, hence frequent long trips). I think it's the right time for an objective review, but please bear in mind when reading...

Pros: Spacious interior, Comfortable for long trips, Versatile cargo space, Good compromise between hatchback and estate
Cons: Fuel economy could be better

Corolla Verso E120 Review

For anyone looking to buy a D-4D or D-Cat engine car from 2005-2009: this is a ticking time bomb. It's not that some units are worse. EVERY diesel will fail sooner or later. Thoroughly check the cylinder head to engine block connection before buying. If not cleaned, you'll see how much carbon or oil is leaking. The head gasket burns out. The cylinder head and engine block need milling, and this can only be done once, lasting about 80,000 km. Then you'll need a new engine. If someone doesn't

Pros: Spacious interior, Practical family car
Cons: High risk of engine failure (head gasket, block], Expensive repairs for diesel engines, Known issue with D-4D/D-Cat engines

Corolla Verso E120

Slight wear after 5 years of use. A compact minivan with 7 seats. A very versatile car, ideal for a family with children. Durable, simple, nice for a Toyota. A bit clumsy for city maneuvering. Otherwise, it lacks a 6th gear on the highway. These are the two biggest drawbacks of this car. Timeless design - despite being 17 years old, the car still looks good. In the 116 hp version, the D4D engine is reliable and has no DPF. Durable bodywork without corrosion. This model will be appreciated by anyone who wants one car for everything.

Pros: Spacious 7-seater minivan, Durable and reliable D4D engine (116hp, no DPF), Corrosion-free bodywork, Timeless and attractive design, Versatile and family-friendly
Cons: Clumsy in city maneuvering, Lacks a 6th gear for highway driving

Corolla Verso E120: Six Months of "Reliability"

Six months of 'trouble-free' TOYOTA ownership: 1. Replacement of the front left wheel bearing (typical for this model), 2. Replacement of the left driveshaft (it snapped - typical for this model), 3. The radio works, but doesn't play (typical for TOYOTA), and finally, you have to top up oil more often than refuel (normal for these TOYOTAS). As you can see, the car is trouble-free. Besides that, driving this car is hard work. The power steering works so poorly I wonder if it works at all, the gears engage worse than in many...

Pros: Spacious interior, Good fuel economy (when it works)
Cons: Frequent mechanical failures, Poor steering assistance, Difficult gear changes, Unreliable radio, Excessive oil consumption

Corolla Verso E120

Since 2013, I've been using a Toyota Corolla Verso 2.0 diesel with 90hp. My previous entries cover many points. Recently, I started driving more according to the rules and had an epiphany. I stay within the 800-2250 RPM range, and the car shows 3.8 L/100km on the computer, on a roughly 500km trip. This is exactly what I wanted. Of course, all filters are replaced annually, along with oil, and I always take good care of every car I own. I also have a Mercedes CDI 2148cc, which achieved a record of 4.8 L/100km on a trip.

Pros: Excellent fuel economy when driven smoothly, Reliable engine when maintained
Cons: Requires careful driving to achieve low consumption
