Toyota Verso 1.6 Valvematic (132 Hp) MPV Mileage unknown

Problem: Tire Wear

Reliable and bright car, lots of storage, good driving position. However, it's noisy, the interior plastic is fragile, fuel consumption is high (8.5 L/100km city, 7.5 L/100km highway at 110 km/h). Required downshifting on inclines to maintain speed, and even then, dropped from 130 km/h downhill to barely 90 km/h uphill, requiring further downshifts to hold 90 km/h. Replacement parts are expensive. Tires are prone to punctures.

Pros: Reliable and bright car, Plenty of storage space, Good driving position
Cons: Noisy car, Fragile interior plastic, High fuel consumption (8.5 L/100km city / 7.5 L/100km highway @ 110), Requires frequent downshifting on inclines, Expensive replacement parts, Tires are fragile and prone to punctures

Toyota Verso 1.6 Valvematic (132 Hp) MPV 150,000 km

Problem: Transmission

Ease of oil change and filter replacement. Quiet at idle. Flexible rear seats. Good trunk volume. I drive 50% E85 and 50% unleaded 95e10 (50,000 km). Nothing to report. Rapid wear of the gear knob. Quality of plastics. Rear lights detach over time with water ingress. Expensive spare parts. Drive shaft replaced, very expensive part at 350 euros.

Pros: Easy oil change and filter replacement, Quiet at idle, Flexible rear seats, Good trunk volume, Reliable after 50,000 km with mixed fuel
Cons: Fast gear knob wear, Plastic quality, Rear lights detach, water ingress, Expensive spare parts, Expensive drive shaft (350 euros)

Toyota Verso 1.6 Valvematic (132 Hp) MPV Mileage unknown

Problem: Electronics

The electronic system has presented issues. Otherwise, this car represents good value, is spacious for a family of three plus a pet, and offers excellent trunk modularity and storage. It has proven reliable over 75,000 km in seven years. The interior is well-insulated with a comfortable driving position. Standard Bluetooth in 2011 was a practical addition. The fuel consumption in city driving is a bit high, and the engine power could be better, requiring frequent gear changes for acceleration.

Pros: Good value for money, Spacious (couple with 2 kids + cat), Trunk modularity and volume, Numerous storage compartments, Reliability of engine, mechanics, and electronics (75,000 km in 7 years without issues so far), Good soundproofing, Standard Bluetooth (in 2011) very practical for streaming music, Decent interior finish, Pleasant driving position with many adjustments (height...)
Cons: High fuel consumption in city driving (8.5 l/100 km), Engine power is a bit lacking, requiring frequent gear changes for response in certain situations
