Passat B9: A Step Back?

Overall, an average car. I'll compare the B9 to the previous generation B8 (2020), which I drove 200,000 km. I had the 2.0 TDI engine with 150 horsepower. The Passat B9 is a step... but to say backwards is an understatement... I believe every previous generation of the Passat was more interesting than the B9. This car is simply bland. Externally, it has poorly chosen proportions - too tall relative to its width. Inside, it looks as bland as outside. The 17-inch wheels make it look like a Tarpan. It's a fleet car.

Pros: Spacious interior
Cons: Uninspired design, Poor exterior proportions, Lacks distinctiveness, Smaller wheels look inadequate

Passat B9 Review

I am satisfied with the purchase. I paid 142,000 PLN for the 1.5 TSI Business version with the winter package. I've driven it 35,000 km in a year and after a year I find it was a good purchase for these times. My previous cars were BMW 5, BMW 6GT, Lexus ES, Audi A8, and comparing the price to what they offer, the Passat is simply sensational. I mainly use it for highway driving. Lane assist works brilliantly. As for the engine, I don't know what you expect from 150 hp, but in my opinion, this one really delivers.

Pros: Great value for money compared to premium brands, Excellent lane assist functionality, Good for long highway journeys
Cons: Engine performance might be subjective for some

Passat B9 e-Hybrid: A Plug-in with 204 HP!

The Passat e-Hybrid, a 204 HP Plug-in! There's no choice, which is a mistake as quite a few are already on the road... The car's appearance is uninspired; it looks like the combustion Passat wasn't supposed to exist, then they suddenly woke up and quickly decided to make it in parallel with the Superb (which also lacks beauty - its predecessor was heavenly prettier, and I drove that one previously). And this is probably the car's biggest drawback. The car is large, very well-made inside - the materials are no worse than the previous generation, which was already high-quality.

Pros: Excellent interior quality, Spacious cabin
Cons: Uninspired exterior design, Limited powertrain options available

Passat B9: Impressive but Bulky

A very nice car in the Elegance trim. It's larger than the B8, which is a bit of a drawback for me. Maneuvering and parking are harder despite the assistance systems. I prefer to take my wife's car for shopping. Someone complained about the matrix headlights dazzling others. They sometimes react strangely, switching and adjusting quickly to the environment, but you can turn them off, and they'll work statically if that bothers you. For me, the matrix headlights are great for driving at night on unlit backroads in the middle of nowhere.

Pros: Very nice Elegance trim, Superior to B8 in size, Matrix headlights are excellent for night driving on unlit rural roads
Cons: Larger size makes maneuvering and parking more difficult, Matrix headlights can sometimes react strangely, though they are adjustable
