Sharan: A Versatile Family Hauler
The Sharan is my second. My first was a 1997 model. This newer generation has the reliable 1.9 TDI 131HP engine, the best VW ever made. The previous 110HP model was incredibly durable, as many say, and I confirm it. The newer engine uses pump-injectors but without a DPF. It's very dynamic and fuel-efficient, averaging 7 liters/100km. The car is very comfortable and spacious. With the seats removed, it's like a small truck, capable of carrying anything.
Pros:
Reliable 1.9 TDI 131HP engine, Excellent fuel economy, Comfortable and spacious interior, Versatile cargo capacity
Cons:
Previous 110HP engine also extremely durable

Sharan: A Swedish Secret Worth Keeping
My Sharan came from Sweden, and I'm its 5th or 6th owner. I later learned it had front-end damage because the alignment is tricky. Nevertheless, I wouldn't trade this car for another. I've had it for almost 4 years and 8 months, covering 120,000 km myself in that time, having bought it with 185,000 km. I mainly use the car for my business, and at first, it served primarily as a family vehicle. I frequently make long trips to Germany without any concerns about its reliability.
Pros:
Reliable for long journeys, Durable and dependable, Spacious for family and business
Cons:
Alignment issues due to prior damage

Volkswagen Sharan: Spacious but Flawed
The interior of the Sharan is good, very versatile and spacious. Unfortunately, that's its only advantage. Writing about everything I've experienced would fill a book. In short: Bodywork - insidious corrosion from the inside, not visible externally. Best spotted underneath and in the engine bay by a layman, but only after dismantling the engine. This corrosion is disheartening. The second weakest point of VW is the suspension = tragedy! Eternal repairs and breakdowns. I don't even want to write about the rest. Very disappointed.
Pros:
Spacious and versatile interior, Good cargo capacity
Cons:
Severe internal corrosion, not easily visible, Unreliable and constantly failing suspension, Expensive and frequent repairs

Sharan i
This is my second car from the SGA stable. The first was an Alhambra, and now it's a Sharan. I consider the car very spacious, typically created for a family or for hard work. Plus for integrated child seats, for the ability to adjust each seat separately, and for the huge trunk - no need to fold the stroller, loading is easy due to the low floor level. I must admit that the car is safe - after being hit on the side by a maxi-type bus, no one was harmed, even though
Pros:
Very spacious, ideal for family or work, Integrated child seats, Independently adjustable seats, Huge trunk with easy loading, Safe, even after side impact

Sharan i: Spacious and Reliable, Despite Quirks
A fantastic, spacious car for undemanding drivers. It rattles over bumps like an old Polonez, and is as loud as a tank on the motorway, but I still like it! The key is regular maintenance, especially of the suspension, air conditioning, and auxiliary heater; then it will serve you well for a long time. Major repairs included the auxiliary heater, and soon the dual-mass flywheel and clutch are due. Apart from that, a few minor issues with the suspension and electrics (Ford locks are the devil's invention). Overall, I recommend it. Average fuel consumption is 7l/100km, the engine is indestructible if you don't push it too hard.
Pros:
Incredibly spacious, Indestructible engine, Good fuel economy (around 7l/100km), Generally reliable with proper care
Cons:
Rattles on bumpy roads, Noisy on the highway, Auxiliary heater can fail, Ford door locks are problematic
