Tiguan II

VW Tiguan R-Line 245HP, 4x4, petrol, automatic – Previously I owned, among others, a Seat Ateca FR, and currently a Skoda Karoq Sportline, so I can truly say more about these 3 sister cars (same platform, same gearboxes, same engines – with 55HP more in the Tiguan, and mostly the same interchangeable parts). However, the Tiguan is the most unreliable of the three – I had it for just under 3 years and sold it while still under warranty. First, there was a recall...

Pros: Powerful R-Line trim, 4x4 capability, Automatic transmission
Cons: Most unreliable of the trio, Sold under warranty due to issues

Tiguan II

Bought from the dealership from the first owner. I've driven about 20k km in a year, and the car has had no problems. I previously owned 3 consecutive Avensis models and wanted another Toyota, but I can't bring myself to accept the e-CVT and interior noise. The Tiguan is a car I simply like. Fuel consumption for such a large car averages around 7.5 liters per year, which is an excellent result for me. You can easily get down to around 6 liters on the highway, but it mainly depends on weather conditions. Good ergonomics.

Pros: Excellent fuel economy for its size, Pleasant driving experience, Good ergonomics
Cons: None reported
