Volvo 440: Highly Recommended
I highly recommend the Volvo 440. It's a very good, and above all, super comfortable and safe car. Although this model was produced in the Netherlands and has little 'Swedishness', it's still much better than Audi and Opel. True Volvos are the 700, 850, 900, S/V70 – I've driven them – but they are wide and heavy cars ('tanks').
Pros:
Very good car, Super comfortable, Safe, Better than Audi and Opel
Cons:
Produced in the Netherlands, little Swedish character, Later models (700, 850, 900, S/V70) are wide and heavy ('tanks')

The car might have its drawbacks, but the driving pleasure and the fact that it's a Volvo compensate for everything. This model made me fall in love with the brand, and my next car will definitely be a Volvo. Volvo and nothing else.
Pros:
Driving pleasure, It's a Volvo
Cons:
May have drawbacks

Volvo 440: A Trusty Companion
This car has some flaws, but it makes up for them with comfort and ergonomics. It's spacious, and the Renault 1.9 engine is fuel-efficient. Despite being assembled in the Netherlands, it deserves Volvo's reputation for reliability. With a little care, it will prove to be a faithful companion for years. I particularly recommend the post-facelift models, which gained the characteristic of the brand's protruding grille.
Pros:
Comfortable and ergonomic, Spacious interior, Fuel-efficient Renault 1.9 engine, Reliable with proper care, Distinctive post-facelift grille
Cons:
Has some shortcomings

440 - Safety First!
SAFETY!! SAFETY!! SAFETY..... I had a serious accident, I hit a stationary car at 110 km/h (I only hit my head on the windshield because I wasn't wearing a seatbelt (now I wear one :D)). My pregnant wife was in the passenger seat, and she also only hit her head. Thank God nothing more serious happened to us, but my car was a wreck. One side of the hood was only a few inches long anymore :/
Pros:
Exceptional safety during a high-speed collision.
Cons:
Driver not wearing a seatbelt initially led to head injury.

Long-Term Reliability: 10 Years with the 440
I've been driving this car for 10 years now, covering nearly 300,000 km, and I've never been stranded. I learned to fix it myself, and that's why it still runs. Unfortunately, I can't afford Volvo servicing, and the few mechanics I've been to left me speechless. The knowledge of some mechanics regarding Volvo is alarming. It's truly a grateful car, as long as you put some heart into it. Despite being 15 years old, it performs excellently.
Pros:
Exceptional long-term reliability, Durable and forgiving if maintained, Still performs well at 15 years old
Cons:
Expensive Volvo servicing, Low mechanic expertise for Volvo cars, Requires self-maintenance

A very pleasant car. I definitely have better memories with it than with my previous Bm, which I've owned for two years. The Volvo is more predictable and there's no chance it will pull any stunts on the road, maybe except for a flat tire. And you don't have to worry about rust if it hasn't been hit anywhere, it's fully galvanized.
Pros:
Predictable handling, Rust-resistant (galvanized)
Cons:
Risk of flat tire

440: Almost Perfect, Great Choice
If it weren't for these small glitches, it would be 5 stars. This car is a good choice. If someone occasionally likes to tinker with their car and is willing to dedicate a little time to it, the car will serve for many years.
Pros:
Good choice of car, Durability with care
Cons:
Minor malfunctions

440: The Unassuming Workhorse
A good car for those who need something inconspicuous. Thieves aren't interested in it, and personally, I don't worry about scratches or paint chips on the body; it just needs to be a car to drive. Unfortunately, for commuting in Warsaw, you can't have a beautiful car because it will get ruined! Pros: comfortable, spacious interior, cheap to buy, not stolen, reliable. Cons: weak low beams (tragic), creaking plastics (exacerbated by Polish road quality), high gas consumption (even 13.5l/100km), no AC.
Pros:
Comfortable, Spacious interior, Inexpensive to purchase, Low theft risk, Reliable
Cons:
Weak low beam headlights, Creaking interior plastics, High fuel consumption (lpg), No air conditioning

Volvo 440: A Reliable Classic
I think the 400 series is unfairly underrated. I owned a Volvo 850, the ride comfort was on a much higher level, but despite owning it for only a year, it stranded me twice on trips. The 440 always got me where I wanted to go. I intend to drive it more, especially since the 400s are becoming a dying breed on the streets. However, well-maintained examples can still be found. Personally, after purchase, I replaced the rear shock absorbers, front discs and pads, and both mufflers. Not excessively much corrosion.
Pros:
Reliable and dependable, Underrated model, Still find well-maintained examples
Cons:
Ride comfort not as high as 850, May require some maintenance

Volvo 440: A Likable, Underrated Car
The Volvo 440 is a very likable and underrated car. Many people see it as the lesser sibling to iconic models like the 850 or 940. Unfortunately, this is partly true, as the car isn't as spacious, comfortable, or as resistant to the passage of time as those mentioned models. Let's be honest - the V440 ages much more than other models. On the other hand, not everyone needs a nearly 5-meter limousine with an engine over 150 HP. The Volvo 440 is ideal for...
Pros:
Likable and underrated, Suitable for those not needing a large luxury car
Cons:
Less spacious than iconic Volvo models, Less comfortable than iconic Volvo models, Ages more poorly than iconic Volvo models
