I've owned this Volvo for over 2 years, mostly driving outside the city alone. The fuel consumption pleasantly surprised me; it's more economical than a Cordoba with a 1.9 TDI engine. With economical driving (in winter), it consumes less than 5 liters. In summer, when I drive more energetically and faster, it consumes 5.2 liters. A full tank lasts for about 950/1000 km. The Volvo S40 is a car that most people like. I chose a small engine, and the 1.6 D is a bit tiring to drive. I expected more from the car, aiming for the premium class, perhaps I was overestimating. It's an ordinary car with average reliability and incredibly low fuel consumption when driven economically. The worst part is that I don't trust this car; I feel like something could always go wrong, despite my efforts to take care of it. I compare it to my previous Civic UFO 1.8.

A truly comfortable car with no major flaws. The engine is very good for LPG. Covered 60,000 km and the mileage is still increasing. Repairs have been limited to wear and tear parts. I bought this car in 2017. Knowing I would cover many kilometers, I decided to have a gas (LPG) system installed by NAGAZ in Łódź. Over the last 3 years, I've driven nearly 120,000 km on LPG. The current mileage is 301,000 km. The 2.4 170HP engine is a great, reliable unit. The Aisin automatic gearbox is said to not be the most durable, but thankfully it's working correctly for me. Its only drawback is slow gear changes.
