V40 ii
The car is well-made. All switches operate smoothly and pleasantly, but it's evident the car's design is aging. Dynamics are acceptable, and the engine is reasonably refined, perfect for commuting. If this is to be your 'first' car, reconsider, it's cramped.
Pros:
Good build quality, Smooth and pleasant switch operation, Acceptable dynamics, Refined engine, Suitable for commuting
Cons:
Dated design, Cramped interior

V40 II: A Disappointing Experience
The worst car I've ever owned. I want to warn everyone, at least about some versions. The car was bought at 190,000 km from 2013. After six months, the head gasket blew. I thought, 'it's not a tragedy.' I live in the UK and visited two English garages; neither wanted to take it on. Only the third, when pressed, explained why. Engines for Volvo from 2011-2015 were fitted by PSA (Peugeot, Ford, Citroën). After head skimming, these engines can last...

Volvo V40 II: A Style-Driven Purchase
I bought the Volvo V40 based on looks. The car has to appeal to me, and I can't help it. I really like the Volvo V40. After 4 years of use, I think it was a good buy. The car still appeals to me, although over the years I've also noticed its flaws. But I'll start with the positives because there are more of them. The car is well insulated and drives great. Over 4 years of use, I haven't had major breakdowns, although the electronics went crazy twice and errors had to be cleared. One of the [component name] also failed.
Pros:
Attractive design, Excellent sound insulation, Great driving dynamics, Reliable mechanicals over 4 years
Cons:
Occasional electronics glitches requiring error resets, One component failure ([component name])

V40 II: A Sporty Compact for Two
An ideal car for a 2-person family. Perfect for daily city driving and long trips. Despite the STAGE2 tune (over 250 HP and almost 600 Nm), it's a bit sluggish off the line, but once it gets going, it pins you to your seat. Navigating and parking in the city is no problem thanks to its size. The real fun begins outside the city, especially on the highway. The car is glued to the asphalt. Only above 250 km/h does a slight...
Pros:
Excellent for city and highway driving, Sporty performance with STAGE2 tune, Agile and easy to maneuver in urban areas
Cons:
Slightly sluggish acceleration from a standstill

V40 ii
Very good car, with this engine, ideal in terms of economy and dynamics. Really nothing to complain about. My wife drives the car, I drive it a bit less, but I am impressed. My primary car is a BMW 3 with a 184hp diesel, but the Volvo with its small petrol engine seems quite dynamic and comfortable in comparison. The chassis is quite capable. I sometimes use a Subaru Impreza and I can say that this Volvo performs quite well in terms of traction. A top car for a woman, it looks the part for its...
Pros:
Excellent economy and dynamics with this engine, Impressive performance for a petrol engine, Good traction and chassis stability

V40 ii
A good car for a single person or a small family. Acceleration is okay, nothing spectacular, but the fuel consumption is beautiful. For me, it's 5.6l in the city, and I tend to have a heavy foot. From a car of this year, you expect some plastic to creak, etc., but it's definitely better built than the Ford Focus I had previously, which was newer (from 2017), and that was a disaster, they must have used the cheapest plastic available on the market. The Volvo defends itself with how it drives, and the R-Design package makes it grip the road like a boar.
Pros:
Excellent fuel economy, Great handling with R-Design package, Better interior quality than Ford Focus
Cons:
Acceleration is not thrilling, Some interior plastic creaks

Volvo V40 II Review
A good car for those without racing ambitions. Economical, with a highway fuel consumption around 4-4.5l and city/mixed use around 5-5.5l, even with a heavy foot. Visibility is a bit limited, especially rearward, but the safety systems offer a great buffer for less experienced drivers, helping to avoid minor accidents. If an accident were to happen, I'd want to be in nothing other than a Volvo.
Pros:
Economical fuel consumption, Excellent safety features, Comfortable for everyday driving
Cons:
Limited rear visibility

Volvo V40 II: A User's Perspective
After years of driving various BMW models, I switched to Volvo and... it's a trade-off. I owned BMW 1 Series (E and F generations) and a BMW 3 Series (F generation), both diesels. They were generally good and mostly trouble-free, but maintenance costs were quite high. Volvo has significantly cheaper servicing. On the plus side, this is the most trouble-free car I've ever owned. 153,000 km driven, and essentially, I visit the service twice a year, change oil and filters, and drive until the next service. At 122,000 km, the timing belt and water pump were replaced.
Pros:
Significantly cheaper servicing compared to BMW, Most trouble-free car owned, Reliable with regular maintenance
Cons:
It's a trade-off compared to previous BMWs
