The Ford C-Max 1.0 EcoBoost is a practical family MPV with a fantastic little engine — when it's healthy. The infamous wet timing belt degrades in the oil and can clog the oil pickup, leading to catastrophic engine failure. Coolant leaks from the cylinder head and turbocharger failures are also known. Strict adherence to 6k-mile oil changes and early belt replacement is absolutely critical.
