The third-generation Hyundai i30 1.0 T-GDi is a well-rounded and practical hatchback with a surprisingly peppy little engine. The main concern is the 7-speed DCT which can exhibit clutch judder and hesitation at low speeds. The infotainment system occasionally glitches. Overall, it's a solid choice — especially with a manual gearbox — and the engine itself is generally reliable.
