The 2006 Kia Rio 1.6 is a solid budget compact car offering good value and a spacious interior. The Gamma engine is generally durable, but the timing chain tensioner can fail, causing chain rattle and potential catastrophic damage if ignored. The AC compressor is also a known failure point. A reasonable used buy if well-maintained, but listen for timing chain noise on the test drive.
